Wow! I know this is a femslash site but I am such a Tony/Carol fangirl that this hiding her phone calls from the man she knew Carol was in love with broke my heart. Man I miss Carol - I blame the books for giving me more from Carol and Tony than the show ever did (but then they both get brutally raped and are pretty fucked up in the books so things may well be even.......................)

I'm pleased in one way that I broke your heart (and sorry in another)!

I really need to read the books. Who is the author? The idea of WitB with even more depth appeals to me, as I'm quite addicted to the show. So is my husband. I'm thinking the books would make a nice Christmas present.

You don't need to worry about breaking my heart (I do so love to angst).

The books are written by Val McDermid and in my ever so humble opinion completely rock (and deserve to be pimped). She has lots of books but the Tony/Carol books are my favourites (although I also love some of her stand alones) and in order the books in that series are -

The Mermaids Singing
Wire in the Blood
The Last Temptation
The Torment of Others

Some of them have been converted into episodes (albeit with some major adaptations) but I manage to like both the books and the episodes without causing myself too much conflict. I think they are all great and the Tony/Carol love is very real and very tragic (so that keeps me happy) and I'll stop now or I will start gushing and you don't need to be subjected to that.

Carol/Alex! I love it.
I only just watched my first Carol episodes yesterday and I adore her so much already. ♥

Very Nice! Of course, being the Simone Lahbib whore that I am, I would read a fic about her paired with a TV script.

ok, I admit I haven't been watching the show *hangs head*

but this is very lovely -- adoring the hot and the angsty love triangle.
