Emma Swan, P.I, ordered a bourbon on the rocks.
She sat at the front, to the right of the dance floor that was front and center to the stage. She had on her best suit, which was not to say much, it was pretty scruffy around the edges, but in her line of work snazzy dressing wasn't exactly a priority. She kept her fedora tilted at just a slightly rakish angle.
She didn't have to wait long for her to take to the stage.
Regina Mills.
A vision in a purple dress that went to the floor and was tight in all the right places, Regina was stunning. She wore a sparking, probably fake, diamond necklace with a hanging jewel shaped like an arrow pointing down her already eye-drawing cleavage.
Regina sang, Emma lit herself a cigarette using a match from a book bearing the logo of the 'Enchanted Forest Jazz Club'.
The song was slow and moody. She had a good voice, but frankly that wasn't what Emma was there for.
Regina was the kind of woman Emma could easily fall in love with, maybe she already had a little bit. Trouble. Dangerous. Wicked in a deep, dark and irresistible way. Like the dumb moth to the bright flame Emma was attracted to her, even though she knew she'd end up burned.
Regina looked at Emma when she finished the song and gave her a wink as the band started the next number.
