Notes: A bit of horror--not something I usually write.
Princess Bubblegum had had the dream again tonight.
Even though it was only eleven-thirty, she had given up in trying to go back to sleep. The damn dream had been plaguing her for four nights now.
The dream is always the same: She would suddenly find herself standing in the middle of field at night, her garden of mints cracking and turning to dust. Her chocolate dandelions would melt into repulsive black sludge.
And the air would of something horrible, something rotten. It made her want to gag, but no, she couldn't, her throat felt like it was wrapped in a vice, closed up tight. But, oddly, she could breathe. Breathe, but not utter a sound.
She began to sweat, despite the chilly air, clenching her hands into fist, arching herself upright.
Someone up in the trees began to laugh. On a branch, sat Marceline, her eyes narrowed, glowing. Her body and clothes were drenched in red, her stainless teeth sparkling, which was strange. She looked absolutely predatory. Lusting not just red in general, for flesh and blood.
There had been bloodshed and death. But, she had not heard any screams. Had she mercifully shown up after it was all over? Or did they have no time to scream?
She began to shake, her fear the most intense she'd ever felt. Would she have time to run, or would Marceline--?
Then nothing, but a sharp pain in her neck, but it was a disembodied feeling, like she was far away...">
