Alison hadn't worked painstakingly on the blue and white scarf for Aynsley, but it took more time than she had been willing to invest in the thing.
But, she hoped her homemade gift would best whatever Aynsley bought for her from a store. No doubt something that looked homely, but from a store. Alison could tell the difference.
As expected Aynsley had preened and cooed over the gift, but Alison wasn't fooled by the act. She could tell Aynsley wasn't impressed by it.
She would probably roll her eyes as soon as Alison turned away. But, to keep up appearances, she gingerly wrapped it around her neck twice, and thanked her in an all too sweet voice. Alison gives her a dry smile.
She could choke on it, Alison thought.
