Supernatural: Oh, show, you are on crack and I love you.

Unpopular LJ opinion: I've had the new profile page on beta for weeks and I really love it a lot. It's PRETTY and a hell of a lot more functional than the old one. Two thumbs way-way up, LJ, from this graphic designer. \0/

Bandom LOL: So evidently Fall Out Boy is playing a Boston show AT ( Read more... )

I'd keep my ass home, if I were him, but I'm also a worrywart. :D Also, it's due on your birthday? THAT IS SO AWESOME.

Isn't the new profile great? I don't really get the grousing I've seen about it. I think it's a lot sharper looking than before and soooo much easier to use.

I think the fact that he's in the country is good.

Erm... I thought FOB was heading to Australia next month or something? >_<'

Rebuttal to your unpopular LJ opinion:

The new profile ate my baby age tracker. Now instead of a tracker that tells my baby's age, it's just a link to lilypie.com. :-(

Wasn't it just HTML code though? You should be able to reinstall it.

I have had the beta version of the profile page for a while too, and I definitely like it for both design and functionality.

I think it's pretty awesome. :D

I'm a bit surprised however, at the number of people who think LJ sprung this on us unawares. Er...evidently they missed the "please beta test the new profile" link at the top of all the noncustomized comment pages the past few months? *G*

Oh, Femme! How can I continue to respect you if you like the horror that is the new profile page?!

The new page makes the single actual function for which I actually use my profile page specifically way less easy. I hated it in beta, and only hated it slightly less when minor improvement happened, and they didn't fix the enormous waste of space up top. I pretty much don't like, uh, anything about it. I do not care about one single thing in the box to the right of the userpic. Seriously, at all. I have rarely noticed my number of posts, usually in response to a meme, and could not POSSIBLY care less about other people's comments and virtual gift stats and support points. Rar.

Also, the implication that users are too fucking stupid to mouseover or use obvious links makes me crazy. Heh.

See, it makes the graphic/web designer in me very, very happy. It's neat and clean and I like the way things are grouped together. I really like the use of white space and I love the grey fonts. And I prefer having the icon on the left now instead of the right...one of the tenets of design is that people's eyes automatically go to that top left corner first and I think it's more visually pleasing to have the default icon there. Overall, professionally speaking, I think they did a great job redesigning it. It's the kind of work I'd be proud to call my own, to be honest.

The stats are interesting to me, and honestly, as a mod, having the comments/entries #s up there helps me know who's active and who could be a sockpuppet. (And after Strikethrough/Boldthrough, that's info that could be useful to be honest.)

And my very favourite part of it is having the Communities separated from the Friends section, and then the Feeds in their own section. Having them all together drove me batshit on the last profile. Plus I love that I can ( ... )

Ha--the separation of people and comms and feeds is one of the things that I hate. Because my only real use of the page other than to click on a username for someone's lj is to see how close I am to the 500 mark when I will get the idiotic icons in reverse order thing, and stay under it. Which requires totaling those three numbers. :D

Heh...I use it for that too, but it's such a relief for me to have them separated out that I figured what the hell, I could do the adding. And I went over the 500 mark once while betaing it and discovered it collapses it all still, so I figured if that happened again at least I'd know and could go through and cull some comms. \0/

Oh, is the general LJ opinion anti-new design? It's different, but I liked it. (It surprised me a bit seeing it the first time, I thought the page hadn't fully loaded and hit reload.)

Seems nice and clean and easy to find info on.
