[possible trigger warning] Accountability Processes

Hi,

Does anyone have experience/knowledge around accountability processes in response to perpetrators of sexual violence, particularly ppl who leverage greater social standing and status in queer/activist "communities"? I would appreciate any commiseration/advice from other survivors/survivor allies. Thank you.

thanks. i read the zine, but hadn't gotten to the book. i hope there are critiques of how delusional and manipulator-enabling "transformative justice" can be. i went to the book launch where ppl who knew the perpetraror/contributed to the book ignored me.

Ugh, I am sorry that you dealt with that. That is really shitty that they may buy into the same behaviors the book is supposed to avoid. I was going to go to the launch, but I feel like most of my experience has been with people outside the social justice circle. I hope it serves to be helpful in some way.

heh, i contacted them too, they were low capacity (could only give reading resources and train others to conduct the process). the one guy they sent was too mild-mannered to counter the folks who were coddling the perpetrator and disrespecting me. thanks though!
