PLEASE, PLEASE READ & HELP OUT!A friend and I have recently started a feminist group at our high school, Cardozo (located in NYC, Bayside to be exact), called F.A.T.E. (Female Advancement & Teen Empowerment). Since it is a brand new club we are currently recruiting new members and hope to start doing activities very soon. So far we plan to take ( Read more... )

I know this isn't going to help you. But I dated a Dozo kid once :) And Dozo is pretty damn cool if you know the right people :)

as far as right now goes, i can't think of any women related events... but i know when we were between events, we did like half saturdays of service to local women's shelters... cleaning up, organizing their extra things, etc... they really appreciated it and we enjoyed ourselves. it was just a nice, commitment-free way to help a little. ;) best of luck!

Yes, I do. That's the exit i get off the LIE when going to NSAL where I adopted both of my dogs.

Yeah, NSAL is about six blocks away. They're a good place to adopt from--one of my friends did a lot of work there and said they were a great shelter.
