I've never understood why people are ahamed of their period. Every woman gets it. No matter how much denial you're in, it'll come every month. Sure some of the side effects can be annoying (ex. cravings, cramps ect.) Personally I think it's about time people gave up this notion that the monthly cycle is "dirty"/

...I'm tempted to say something along the lines of "Oh no! You missed a period!" ;p

I havent seen this one yet, but I find the little things on the packages really irritating - "good excuse to ignore the housework" etc. Pathetic.

No problem. :) I'd go back and find it though just because it was really interesting. I think futurebird might have started it? But I'm not sure.

Mine too, especially since I stopped polluting the environment with chemical-laden paper and plastic devices filled with my menstrual blood.

Same, me and my DivaCup are good buddies.

I'm wondering -- I don't get a particularly 'normal' flow... it's usually kinda globby... do you think a diva cup would still work out, or should I invest in Lunapads instead?

These ads are irritating because they claim to empower women to 'own' their period experiences and not be ashamed of them or hide them... yet they enforce sexist stereotypes of what it means to be menstruating, how you feel or should feel, and give us the sense that our only appropriate outlet for those feelings is being "bitchy" in the most stereotypical sense of the word.
