I've never understood why people are ahamed of their period. Every woman gets it. No matter how much denial you're in, it'll come every month. Sure some of the side effects can be annoying (ex. cravings, cramps ect.) Personally I think it's about time people gave up this notion that the monthly cycle is "dirty"/

...I'm tempted to say something along the lines of "Oh no! You missed a period!" ;p

That is a very small minority if I've read my statistics right...I could be wrong though. And yeah I did use it as a generalization, but I thought the generalization worked in my statement. If I've offended anyone, I'm really sorry. *looks sheepish*

Just out of curiosity, what statistics are you referring to? It'd be interesting to see research on that and who is included...

I'm currently trying to find the study again...it was in my Biology book which is in MA while I'm in NY. I'll try and contact my parents to see if they haven't sold it yet. I'll let you know. But as estelwen said transwomen do not menstruate and some women who don't because of medical reasons. I didn't mean to belittle any of these people, but as I said I thought my generalization would be assumed. Mea culpa. I apologize.

oh no worries, I just thought you had it handy or something. But yeah, it'd be interesting if there were a study on "___% of women do not have periods" to see if they include women who once did but no longer do (ie elderly women), transwomen, people who identify as male but still have periods, pregnant women, women on BC, etc. to see who is included to get the percentages

Post-menopausal women, obviously, don't menstruate either. I think we could stand a little more precision in language here.
