Lowes has Laminate wood flooring which is relatively easy to install yourself, you just need a couple of tools (hammer, pull block, tap block, saws). I was looking at Lowes actually. On the way home from work tonight I am going to pick up some floor swatches and see what looks good in my place. My first instinct is to go with real hardwood as it will really increase the value of the place. However, all of this is contingent on what is under my carpet. I don't hold out much hope, but you never know, there may be a floor there already. :)

I've done a pergo floor, fairly easy except for the first and last courses. When you need a hand holler, I gotta 4x8 bed on the truck.

Do you know what's below the carpet?

You know, I am not sure yet. I have to rip up a section of the carpet, and I have been putting it off. I will have to check this weekend. :)
