Fuck, I would kill for something sweet right now. There's nothing, NOTHING, sweet in this whole house. Except, you know, sugar. And I'm this close to just taking a spoon to the sugar bowl. *twitches

I feel ya. I started a diet recently and had to eat meat only for a week. I thought I would starve. I was so glad when I was able to add vegetables and fruit.
I thought I would never be able to give up my Pepsi and (blech) DIET, but I have made the adjustment. I was also one of those people who did not think a person could drink eight 8oz glasses a water a day. I now drink 12.
Once you've made up your mind to lose the weight...you bitch and moan, and feel you can't do it and want to give up...but you do what it takes to reach your goal. Hang in there.
*sigh* I didn't mean to sound insinsitive. I was in a really weird mood yesterday. I really do hope all goes well with your diet. Lord knows its hard enough...and I've just decided I'd rather eat what I want.
Hmm, well, next time you go shopping, maybe you could try this thing I did one time.
I stuck two mangos in a blender, ice, and added some soy milk for liquid. I'm not normally a mango girl, but it was sweet, healthy, I liked it, and it was filling too. Plus, I found that it gave me a nice (and surprising)bit of energy that seemed to last through most of my work day.
I can be on the thick side, so I'd say experimenting with milk (or juice) would be good.
But, if you're not a mango person, then I hope you still end up finding something you like! *squish* Sorry about the cravings though.
You must have some fruit in your house. That's sweet. If you don't have fruit, you need to get some. You should get some red grapes, strawberries, or whatever fruit in season, and freeze some. They'll be little frozen sweet treats! Yah!!!
To give you hope, sugar addiction *can* be weaned and will not feel as bad after a while. Hmm, I'm sure there's more addictive stuff than sugar in coke, though, so it's tough. On the downside, I just heard that sparkling mineral water is bad if you're trying to lose weight - it messes with digestion or whatever, and I know it makes me hungry as well as dehydrated in the end... it's a jungle. Good luck with not selling your Hubby, and no that cake totally doesn't count! :D
