I don't know if you can do it over there, but you should complain to someone about this. Maybe they can change it. It is not fair!

That's crap. They can't just change the rules like that. If it's always been a pass or fail task then it should stay as one...

I would go to the department head, get an appointment, and explain it to them politely. I had to do this once in college when my first-year journalism teacher downgraded me because he didn't approve of the topic of an article I'd written for the University newspaper ( ... )
