Copperheads???? EWWWWW. I could manage the crickets and the mice (have had both) but copperheads??

Yep. Geo found a baby copperhead stuck to one of the sticky cricket traps. I figure it probably saw the trapped crickets as a lunch buffet, much to its misfortune.

That's the second snake I've found in our basement since the move. I don't know if the other was a copperhead, though. I don't like to get close enough to have a look.

You know, I've tried that same logical tactic myself, but they NEVER LISTEN! Seriously, you think they'd learn by now.

...I would be much more forgiving of bugs if they paid rent.
