Sorry to hear your Auntie is going downhill. The hardest part with my Mom was that last week. We started preparing ourselves, and wanted it to be over cos' we knew she was in pain, and we wanted her to have peace. But at the same time, we didn't want to just give up. It's tough ( ... )

Sorry to hear about your Aunt. My thoughts are with her and her family.

Glad you're up and moving. I can't use the elliptical: hurts my pathetic knees. Maybe when the weather's warm you can go for brisk walks? Put some variation into the routine or you'll get bored fast. To inspire you (it's worked on charis_kalos, I'll use the bicep icon.

It's a bit biased, and OT limited, but we read a "portion a week" every year, starting obviously in September when Rosh Hashana falls. The schedule is on every Jewish calendar (and of course I can't find an English equivalent right now) and is very doable. Would cut your time in half if you want me to find it in English for you.

I'd be very much interested in seeing your reading schedule. Thanks!

Okee doke. I'm in the office and my google-fu is broken (I can only find it in Hebrew). At home, I have the schedule according to the former Chief Rabbi of England, which is a favourite commentary of mine, so I'll copy that for you.

Know that the goal is for Jews to read the Torah (first five books) every year from Genesis 1 in order, and the rest of the OT is scheduled differently, based on commentaries for the Torah portion. I'd give you a link (torah.org for example) but the jargon's all so very, very Jewish, it'd confuse even my kids. ;).

Ha! I must be brain dead, because I was looking for it under the Hebrew. Sheesh. Talk about jargon.

The schedule, including extra readings for holy days can be found here: Judaism 101:Torah Readings. It includes an explanation of terms. Oh, the column on the left ("parsha") is simplly the first word of that portion. "Bereishit" for example means "In the beginning".

Yay ellipses! Exercise is good!

Speaking of icons, we're backing up my computer right now, and Mr. Bill expressed amazement and exasperation at how much space was devoted to icons and screenshots for making them. *grin* The program I use is this gimpy MS product that I do not recommend, but I know how to use it and it's free, so.

I adore the time travel in TTW. Very brain-breaky, yeah, but really cool.

Re. crossover fic: I put in all your grammar edits last night! There were several points where you highlighted a comma to be deleted and I just looked at it and went "Why did I out a comma there?" *fails at commas*

Definitely praying for you and yours. *hugs*

Um. That was me. Sorry, I forgot Mr. Bill's computer logs him in automatically.

I was wondering why Mr. Bill was referring to himself in the third person... 8-P

It is because Mr. Bill is a made-up person that I pretend to be married to! He does not really exist! The pictures and the times he's hacked my LJ to post entirely in l33t speak are a ruse! *giggles*

I use the GIMP for all my digital art. It is good, and it is free!
