LJ moving to Russian servers; I'm moving to DW

Basically, LiveJournal is migrating from a server farm in California to one in Russia. Quality of service aside, it means LiveJournal will no longer have to abide by US laws - in freedom of speech, privacy, user protection, data transparency, intellectual property - or anything at all. FWIW, DW's crosspost feature is automatic once you set it up, so you don't need to remember to do it every time you post.

Buffy fandom never took off on DW, so while there are a couple of communities there, they're all quite dead, except for the Herald mirror. I would hope that if LJ actually did go away, enough people would make the transition that we could keep the fandom alive, but I've seen so many people with a stance of LJ or nothing that I'm not getting my hopes up.

I believe that Seasonal_Spuffy is backed up there, though, and actually ran a few rounds there.

I'm not sure how Russian law regards transformative works in general, and fanfiction in particular, so once I've made it through The Migration I'll be posting fanfic only to DW, with a link posted to LJ. That's the plan, anyway, assuming there's anyone left on LJ after the dust settles.

This can't be good for the already dwindling Buffy fandom on LJ. :/

If it's any consolation, I seriously doubt that anyone over there gives a single damn about fanfic. They've got bigger fish to fry. :/
