LJ moving to Russian servers; I'm moving to DW

Dec 30, 2016 21:20

Basically, LiveJournal is migrating from a server farm in California to one in Russia. Quality of service aside, it means LiveJournal will no longer have to abide by US laws - in freedom of speech, privacy, user protection, data transparency, intellectual property - or anything at all. For details, see rahirah's recent post.

I'm moving to Dreamwidth. I originally joined LJ to post my Buffyverse fanfiction and consume others' fanwork, and I'm not going to wait around until I start to experience deleted posts or disappearing comments should someone object to something I posted. (Hmm, do they like vampire pr0n over there, I wonder? Would Bangel or Spuffy, Spander or Fuffy, reign supreme in the motherland of Dostoyevsky?) I'm going to try cross-posting. But as you can tell from my long-neglected Dreamwidth account, it may not always happen.

I'm feliciacraft on Dreamwidth. I try to use the same handle everywhere, so I'm also feliciacraft on AO3, on Elysian Fields, on Tumblr, etc. Please friend me or let me know your handle on Dreamwidth. I don't want to lose anyone in this migration. :(

Those in the Buffy fandom, can you please recommend me communities to join on Dreamwidth?

And last but not least, happy new year, everyone! I'll be waiting for 2016's redemption arc in the new year. The Gods Must Be Lazy with the over-the-top use of villain tropes in writing 2016. But we'll have Balance Between Good and Evil, and The Good Guys Always Win, right?
