Imaginary Spuffel reactions
The thinking about Spuffel started with the following observation on shipping wars on my recent Tumblr post. I'm seeing less of this recently (maybe thanks to Harmony in lending it voice in the comics?), but:
In case you don't know what I'm talking about when I mentioned Harmony above, here's the relevant Buffy comics panel:
I mean, doesn't Buffy above look like she's having a grand time? And don't we all, at the end of the day, just want her to be happy?
Also, because the following girl is super cute (and therefore convincing), I'm appropriating her cuteness for my own campaign:
Considering everything that's happened in Buffyverse Canon (I'm including the comics here), it wouldn't be any more shocking to have Buffy/Spike/Angel at some point. Probably only a matter of time as more and more ideas get used up. What would Buffy the Vampire Slayercomic look like in five seasons? In ten? After... everything, surely everyone who's ever been judgey of Buffy's life choices would have fewer reasons to find a polyamorous commitment involving her two ensouled vampires objectionable? Especially if Angel's soul is still in need of anchoring?
I can just image Giles be like (sorry, not comic-accurate, trapped-in-a-boy's-body Giles, because it's mybrain):

And Dawn... Well, she's an adult now, so her reaction is totally appropriately adult-like. With a dose of sisterly indulgence. Oh, Buffy. You keep breaking the rules. You.

It takes Xander a while to get behind the idea, once his mind recovers from the boggling:

But this time around, he shows that he can be totally supportive of Buffy's decisions about her personal life:

And to break the news to Andrew, Buffy makes sure to confiscate his camcorder first:

Because she knows he'd be WAY into the idea. Rather disturbingly so.

Once upon a time, Faith would've raised an eyebrow at this too, considering Buffy too uptight for a Spuffel endgame.

But NOW, well, we're in a post-Season 8 and Season 9 world. She'd probably take credit for ever putting the idea in Buffy's head, and offer to kiss the bride for luck:
