Channing and Steven Soderbergh are trying to do another movie together
Last night, Variety was "breaking" news saying that Channing and Matt Damon will do a movie together, with Soderbergh attached to direct. Within a few hours, Soderbergh claimed the report wass UNTURE on Twitter, but he didn't say which part was unture. Anyway, other outlets also went to their sources and tried to figure out what is going on. Here are what we know:
(1) Channing and Steven Soderbergh are trying to do another movie together.
(2) The movie is a "Ocean's 11" style heist flick, but involving hillbillies.
(3) The title (for now) is either "Lucky Logan" or "Logan Lucky".
(4) We don't know how Soderbergh will be involved at this point, probably not as a director.
(5) Channing's costar is probably not Matt Damon, but Michael Shannon.
Well, we will wait and see. In the meantime, yesterday Channing and good pal Joseph Gordon-Levitt met with some TV producer who works in NBC. I am not sure if the producer met with them as a team. After Hail, Caesar!, will studios be confident to give Chan and Joe money to do a movie musical? Speaking of Hail, Caesar!, I am going to see it tonight at 7:15pm. I will wite another post for discussion.
