First, Happy Canada Day! It rained a little bit this afternoon, I hope the sky will be cleared when the firework is on.
Anyway, when I woke up this morning to see Channing on the cover of Vanity Fair, I knew it would be a great day. A few weeks ago, I chatted with
rvchel2012, we wondered why this time Channing didn't get a major magazine cover, like GQ or

First of all, those pictures are amazing ! By Annie Lebowitz, no less !
What an athletic, yet graceful man. This combination is rare.
It reminds me of the scene with Gene Kelly in Singing in the Rain, and since Channing's character in Hail Caesar is a tapdancer/actor inspired by Gene Kelly, it's even more relevant.
Great article, too.
I watched MMXXL as well today. In my part of the country it rained miserably all day, therefore there were a lot of people at the cineplex. Had to wait in line to get in. The room wasn't full, but there were wtill a lot of people, reacting a lot. Laughing at the right places, etc.
Mostly women, and a couple of men who had vbeen dragged by their girfriends.
I must say that I enjoyed the road movie part. I thought their dialogues was fun.
The part in Domina's club is very exy. Tatum is magnetic, and does know what he is doing when he is dancing.
Maybe there is less social impact. But they already addressed that in the first movie. I knew what I was getting into.

Indeed! There was something very visceral and special about that number.
What he did at the end, with the symetry effect, was well elaborated too. And, as you stated, his dance in the garage, is really energetic and galvanising.
In my theater, people reacted to his scenes and also to Joe Manganiello' scenes.
Finally, I had to come back to marvel once again at this photo shoot. Wow ! I've bemoaned for years the fact that photos that go with article about Channing are never that great in spite of the "material". But look at that now ! My prayers have been answered ! How charismatic and kinetic.
