It's come to my attention that, sadly enough, despite the nearly overwhelming acceptance Blaine and I have received here - which, really, is more than anything I could have expected and, in some cases, makes this place a little more tolerable than it would be otherwise - some of you are severely lacking in some very basic and very much needed ( Read more... )

[A few minutes after this post, Blaine sneaks into Kurt's room and walks up behind him and wraps his arms around Kurt's shoulders. He kisses Kurt's cheek before just resting his chin on his boyfriend's shoulder.]

You're amazing, I hope you know that.

[He knew it was Blaine that came into his room, which is why he's just letting out a sharp, annoyed huff of air as Blaine starts talking, arms crossed out of agitation.]

I'm hardly afraid of what they could do to us, so its not like there's too much of a threat, but- [He pauses, and leans a bit into Blaine's embrace, lips twitching.] I suppose I am pretty amazing.

The most amazing person I've ever met.

I'm not too worried about anyone coming after us because of who we are, most everyone is so accepting here...but I think educating the people who may not be well informed about this subject is an excellent idea.

People are only so violent because they're so ignorant.

[He's snapping, and he knows it. Which is why he sighs and drags a hand down his face for a moment before turning a bit in Blaine's grip in order to face him a little better, one hand moving down to grab his boyfriend's.]

I never could have said that without you standing by me, Blaine. Courage, remember?

...This is still an issue for humans?

[Geez, you people.]

What, have you been hiding under a rock or something? People are afraid of what's different. They refuse to learn about it and so they lash out at it. It's some sort of barbaric self-preservation among the uneducated.

I thought this particular problem had been resolved. More than once.

And I don't understand why it would be considered so threatening, of all things.

You would think so, right? Too bad people can't seem to learn.

[He snorts, his voice taking on an increasingly bitter edge]

Every straight guy seems to have a homophobic side of him that thinks - no matter what - that every gay male out there is out to peek at them in the shower or molest them on street corners or something. As if "the gay" is just something they can catch.

It can't really get much worse.

I've been accused of wrestling an octopus in my spare time.

An octopus. Really? [What the hell?] What does that even have to do with...?

Honestly? I have no idea.

[And booooy does he sound annoyed about it.]

Holding hands is perhaps an inappropriate degree of intimacy to show in public.

The usual PDA is even worse from where I'm from, actually.

[He shakes his head though, frowning a little. He can tell from how she dresses and what he's seen over the network that she's... like Enjolras in a sense. From another time. A stricter time.]

A lot of people hate what we do in the privacy of our own homes, too. Even where they can't see it.

It is idealism - to think that our lives within the four walls of our home shan't be the talk of society. However, when such gossip is indeed reality, it becomes ever more important to stand by one's choices of action.

I guess it is. [He sighs, and runs a hand through his hair, straightening it out absently] I am who I am. And I will always stand by it, no matter what ignorant fear and outright disgust and outrage comes my way.

[Ed. You were not one of the ones this was directed to. But since you're here and obviously curious...]

You know, Ed, sometimes the easiest way to understand the life of a gay teen a little better is to live it. I have a few spare outfits that might fit you. And we can go from there.

....

Because watching you, Blaine, Negi and my brother isn't enough?

-=Cue in a laugh.=-

Ha! I'd tear out one sleeve.
