[The feed clicks on to show a... very different Kurt greeting Adstringendum today. Instead of his normal, over the top outfits, usually complete with bow ties and something that really shouldn't work together but somehow oddly does... he's wearing a simple, gray t-shirt. And jeans.]

As much as I would rather not have to stoop to this level, as I ( Read more... )

do not mess with this kid, screw you animus, this is my bitch face, sulky kurt is sulky, not as stupid as he seems, adstringendum can just go die, divas among us, can actually be mature, feeling like crap, a post without song, death sucks, he can talk too

[About twenty minutes after your little announcement, Kurt, you will have one miss Rachel Berry, who is dressed as she should be -- sweater and tights and skirt and all -- holding a box as she stands in the doorway. The box has a variety of things in it, ranging from markers to tape to sticky notes.]

[He has the entire contents of his closet - clothes from home, what he's managed to piece together here - laid out on his bed, and he's just standing in front of them, one hand over his mouth and the other crossed over his chest. He doesn't even turn when he hears Rachel approach, instead just pointing at two identically styled shirts, one a deep navy blue and the other an almost vibrant green.]

Those two. I got them two years ago at a Macy's sale. One is Navy, the other Office Green. [Then, he turns to glance at Rachel, annoyance clear on his face] They both look Rifle Green to me, Rachel.

[Rachel opens her mouth to ask what the difference between office green and rifle green is, but wisely thinks better of it. Instead, she crosses to his bed to sit on it, the box on her lap, so she can rifle through it. She holds a marker between her teeth as she pulls a piece of tape from the roll to stick it on the navy blue shirt before writing, in perfect handwriting, the word 'NAVY'. Then, without a word, she does the same thing to the other shirt, taking care to write out 'OFFICE GREEN' (because, apparently, there is a very large difference between that and regular green) on the tag for the other shirt.

Then, Rachel turns to Kurt and, finally:]

What else?

[He watches with slightly wide eyes as Rachel wordlessly goes about labeling the two shirts with what he'd said, one hand still crossed over his midriff, the other pressed against his chest now as he just... blinks at her.]

... Um. Well. [Rachel Berry, you officially shocked Kurt into a few seconds of stunned silence.] .... There's a few pairs of pants I can't remember the specific shades of, although that won't mean much if you don't actually know the different shades of blue.

[He sighs and moves to sit on the bed, pulling the two labeled shirts into his lap and running his hands over the fabric, staring hard down at them, trying... to see the difference he knew was there.] Try... describing something the color reminds you of. I think that's the closest we'll be able to get.

I'd appreciate it. [His lips twitch, just slightly. And he bites his tongue for now, against making some crack about Spike getting beaten up by little girls.

But...]

You know, your poetry last week really wasn't that bad.

[Ohhhh right, you're only a pushover for little girls. Specifically brunette little sisters to a certain anger-management blonde.

He's grinning now, though.]

I think it showed a variety of emotions not many men are so confident to express.

Do you still write? Or was that kind of a one-time event deal?

[... he totally isn't trying to build some evidence towards a theory. Totally not.]

I can, but I don't put up with whining.

[This is how she shows she cares.]

[His lips twitch, even as he rolls his eyes raaather dramatically]

I don't whine, Asuna. I simply continually express some well thought out complaints. Loudly.

What kind of training can you offer?

[He lets out a little chuckle at that, as the enthusiasm is both welcome and... contagious, almost.]

Consider me a student, then.

You need a gun, kid.

[That gets him to shudder a bit, his mood sombering a little as he looks at the PCD seriously]

While a gun would be effective, I don't think I'm ready to learn something so obviously devoted to killing.

While martial arts offer that proficiency, it's not the only option. Unless that opportunity is the same with firearms I just don't... think that would be to my liking.

[Normally this is an attitude that Jotaro approves of, but Adstringendum is nowhere normal. His voice is bone dry.]

You're Hummel, right. Rachel's friend.

Why can't you make those pretty clothes? How are you going to be a haberdasher?

[He pauses at the sound of Alice's voice, the mention of being a haberdasher, and gives the girl a small, sad smile]

I can't determine colors anymore, Alice. Blue doesn't look like blue anymore, Green doesn't even look like green. I've studied colorblindness before, in the fashion world it's an incredible worry, and this doesn't fit into anything I remember.

[He moves over to pick up the two shirts he'd had Rachel label earlier, reading the tag and holding up the navy one first.] This one's a rich navy, and this one... is on the lighter side of green. I, however, see them both as an almost muddy brown now. Completely indistinguishable.

I can't... exactly work like this, as you can imagine.

But they were pretty clothes... [The comment is more to herself than to him.]

Ah! What if you designed in only black and white! Surely you can see that can't you? And if it's you then the clothes can't be boring with just the two colors!

[.... Alice, you are now officially his new best friend]

Of course! Black and white- why didn't I think of this before?! Even shades of gray should work, I'll just have to get the second opinion that they are, in fact, black and not a dark blue, but I can definitely work with this.

Well, until I start dressing in it so much people start mistaking me for a cow. Or a dalmatian.
