The Weapons Stall

Sep 06, 2010 16:33

Hey guys! So borrowing an idea from Scath, I've decided just to stick this post permanently in Krile's journal rather than making a huge, redundant one in the OOC comm every few months. It'll be linked to in her top / HMD post for easy findings if you need to have a look later.

there has been no FailTML. you're imagining things.

Staff: The weapons stall is currently run by Krile, Aim/Lockon (imthefavorite), Flame (forgotmyforge) and Crochet (NPC for easy handwaving purposes).

Newborns: A lot of newborns might find themselves asking "where can I find something to stab with?" Krile does sell to them. She also offers a pay-by-installments plan so that they don't have to break the bank. But she will send Crochet around if you try to skip payment and it's a one-time deal either way. She'll also let weapons out on a temporary rental if your character so desires.

General Selection: Swords, spears, axes, short blades (daggers and the like). The shop also carries an oddball selection that can include whips, bells, playing cards, and frying pans, because Krile is from a video game and recognizes the weirdo things that they try to pass off as legitimate weapons.

Firearms: Firearms are handled by Lockon and NPC!Crochet. If your character wants to buy a gun, there's a special policy outlined there. If your character's got an NPC supervisor and you think it's reasonable for them to get a reference, feel free to handwave it. Since Krile doesn't deal with firearms except when she needs to, you should contact Terra for that.

Security: Because Alive (Hallelujiah Haptism) robbed the shop back in July, the shop now has a trapdoor over a big ol' pit right inside the front door. It's about ten-twelve feet deep and has a grate that covers it after someone falls in so nobody flies out, and it's armed every night. For rooftop thieves, the tiles will slide you into spikes lining the edges. (Lockon can attest to the fact that the pit works.)

The Do-Not-Sell List: Since Krile is a nice person with a sense of responsibility, she can and will refuse to sell weapons to people if she thinks they would be irresponsible or abuse them. If your character makes violent threats over the journals or commits a violent crime, expect them to end up here. She may also refuse to sell if your character is at the stall every day or every other day to buy something new, and she'll want to know why they need that much stuff. Should your character be barred from there, I will always contact you to let you know about it.

She will also refuse to sell if it's clear that your character has no clue what they're doing with whatever they've picked up. People can't buy swords from her just because they're omgawesome. She and Crochet do pay attention when their would-be customers are handling weapons to see if they have any familiarity with it.

The Current List

Black - Rogue tattled on his 4th-floor memory of slaughtering folks.
Zombie - For making violent threats over the journals. And as of late July, for going bananas and shooting up the Bazaar.
Apostle - For his remarks on the Watch and justice system.
Castor - For guns only. Because of this.
Juliet - Krile witnessed a fourth-floor memory of him being a serial killer.

Layout: ...not actually a stall, it's just been called that like forever. Weapons are kept in cabinets which are locked at night and open during business hours. This picture's a little out of date since there are cabinets now (previously it was just racks and a table), but it's basically the same.

Other: Members of the Guard and the Watch get a ridiculous discount. During crises, Krile will often allow Guards, Watchmen, and sometimes Adventurers to borrow things without charge. She wants them back when you're done, thanks.
