Changing Gears

I will not be training with a clinic this summer. It's a decision I initially made last summer, after the low turnout made it impossible for me to train with anyone. I further developed the idea this spring, when I could see that the clinic system was no longer helping me improve all that much. My next step was going to be to personalize my ( Read more... )

Moving to Kanata? Very neat, I am currently there though I will be moving out relatively soon. Depending on your location, you might be able to grab some very nice trails. The trans-canada trail goes between Stittsville and Bells Corners and is pretty easily accessible. You might also like the trail along Terry Fox by the resevoir, it is nice and scenic. There is also a running room right on Hazeldeen.

Best of luck, and if you have any questions about Kanata please feel free to ask me. I have been here for... god... 18 years.

Thank you! Yeah, I've visited the Kanata Running Room a couple times, and one of my friends from the Merivale store was telling me they're very friendly there. So, when I return to the clinics for the winter months, that's where I'll be going!

But first, I have to learn some of these wonderful trails. I'll be living just off of Bridgestone, off of Eagleson, so I guess the Trans-Canada trail running to Bells Corners wouldn't be too far off for me.

Will you be at the Great Gordon BBQ in July? We could chat more then.

There is also an excellent Bakery at Terry Fox and Hazeldeen which you might like. Your location is excellent btw. Look at the satellite photo of Kanata on google maps and you can see a triangle formed by Roberson, Eagleson and the Trail. It starts juuust north of the intersection of Stonehaven and Eagleson.

I haven't been invited to the BBQ to the best of my knowledge, but If I am there I will be happy to chat more.

Bingo! I see it! Thanks for letting me know where the trail intersects. That is going to be perfect! Once we move, I have to figure out totally new maps for the last month of my training. And from Bridgestone it doesn't actually look that hard to get to Terry Fox. Finding all this stuff is going to be fun for my inner raven!
