Summary: Ann figures out why things never worked out with Mark.
Spoilers: Takes place after the second season finale.

Notes: Thanks to lavender_basil for the awesome beta!

'Ann, what's up?' Andy says, and it's not what he says but how he says it. The tone of his voice, the set of his shoulders - all of it radiates the same disappointed wariness Ann felt every time he showed up unexpectedly after their breakup. )

This story is just pitch-perfect. You *nailed* everyone's voices, from Leslie and Ann to all the supporting characters. Your Andy and Tom are SPOT ON.

What I love about this and all of your pieces is how gracefully you are able to capture the tenderness of being human. The fears that come along with being vulnerable make sense in your deft hand and never, ever feel like a plot device.

But you don't just stop there, your writing is also really funny has a phenomenal sense of place and treats all the characters with dignity.

I've said it before, you need to write more because everything you do is so amazing. It's really a gift to read!

This is excellent. It had the sweet, wistful feel of a good P&R ep. Loved it.

Thank you so much! I totally hear you on the gaping hole, every week I hope to hear something about the show coming back earlier than midseason - it seems way too far away!

This is awesome. Perfect build-up. You really capture the subtlety of their relationship. If they ever explored this on the show, I feel like this is exactly how they'd do it. LOVVEEE!
