BATMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!! We will now return you to coherance for the rest of this post.
Batman and the JL will always be priceless. 80's, cartoons, even present day, I love the teams, I love the fact that he is the International Straight Man (in the comedic sense) of the group. Except the rare Bat Joke that confuses everyone, which as you noted, is one of the best things about Batman. He's got Bruce's wicked sense of humor, with the added need to mindfuck everyone once and a while, just to keep them on their toes.
(Also on a JL note, Shining Knight/Vigilante OTP yes/hell yes?)
And the cartoooons. <3 <3 <3 I've even come to love the newest one. Sure, I'm not the biggest fan of the art style, but the lines are so quentisentially Bats and the little embellishments for the rogue's gallery is definately worth it. And without the cartoons, we wouldn't have Mark Hamil's Joker! And man, that laugh will feature in my nightmares until I'm dead, and that's just awesomeI deeply approve of Alfred's high placement in the countdown,

He does seem to enjoy the occasional mindfucking of other people(There's one Guy Gardner line, I think in Blue Beetle where a lot of the JLI show up to save the new Blue Beetle, but they didn't plan it, so they're trying to figure out how they all knew to show up, and Guy's just, "It's Bats. Bats is playing with us

The only way I get comics is picking through them at the used bookstores, and maybe reading a *cough* few online. Most of my knowledge comes from the various shows.
I meant The Batman. I still...I've tried a few times, but The Brave and the Bold is still...a work in progress to love.
I would read certain series online if I could (If anyone can ever point me towards the Legion of Superheroes I will be one happy fangirl... since the Post Zero-Hour cannon has never been collected in trades. ;_; I get most of the comics I can find through the library, or used bookstores and certain series I will occasionally dish money out for.
I want to see the Brave and the Bold for the sole reason it brings out some of my favorite characters like Blue Beetle, Booster Gold and Guy Gardner.
