I was so happy with number 34. I followed a tutorial and it came out completely different to what it was supposed to be, but I really liked it. :)

Oh, gosh, er. I use screencaps from picspams, and also there are LOADS of images posted at the creddie fans forum which I use.

me too. I now realise that changing the colour balance doesn't really do much. :S i knowww.

OOH. With the whole layers thing, if you use it, in these tutorials they mention setting a layer to a mode and opacity level. do you know where i can do that? i can't find it. D:

sometimes it helps to just scoot up the saturation a bit if the picture's a bit dark, but other than that it doesn't really do much, lol.

IDK. I think there's a 2.7, but this setting layers to a mode and opacity level pops up in tutorials for 2.6 too, so yaaarrr. :/

Yes, they are! I don't even watch CSI but I watched it for him, haha. He was really good; if you ever feel up to it I definitely recommend watching it. :)

By the way - I read what you were saying about Color Balance in GIMP. Generally, combined with Curves, it can make a difference. I have an example for a blend I was making. One was a promo, the other was a screencap, which was very blue. Combining Color Balance and Curves, I was able to get rid of the blue, which you can see below. :)
