The other night my sister called and told me she saw the movie and mentioned the Brown Wizard and I immediately said that Radagast wasn't in that book. She never read the book so she didn't know all the babbling questions I had. I also mentioned the look of the dwarves. Thorin is too young and too handsome....most;y because I have been looking at the same artwork since 1978.

I will go see it. She did tell me that my favorite scene was in it...I will just have to see if compares to my vision of it when I was 13.

The funny thing is that when I read the book I devoured it like people did with the Harry Potter Stories. I think that those stories are okay, but they could not compare to the Hobbit for me.

There was one point near the start where I couldn’t tell if the camera captured some heat distortion rising past the actors, or there was a cloud of insects or just weird optical stuff going on. But, it looked weird to me.

And, the big chases around underground did not do it for me. Again, maybe in 3D it would have been different. But, it seemed very repetitive to me.

both these things struck me, too. like they were so intent on turning parts of the movie into a video game, they really screwed those of us who wanted a, well, movie.

Yup. I agree so much. I was disappointed. Which meant that both my hubby and I were quite vocal in the theater about stuff not belonging and why didn't they put that in the movie it belonged in and such. Ugh. it is like he turned our hobbit into his own fan fiction.
