A/N : Hi everyone... It has been alsmost 4 years I have been away. I have so many things to tell but it almost felt awkward and dont know where to start. Therefore, here I am with a fic to break the ice. This is written specially for kazu_chan_love and sweetspicyhot. Thanks for always remebering me...

“You hit like a girl” Kame barked, wiping off the crimson stain from his lower lips. A soft creaking sound was heard when he snapped his jaw. He winced in pain, pushing himself up from the cold floor, eyes fixed on the equally dishevelled sparring partner he has not met in a while. Secretly, he hated that deep down inside, he wanted to hug the guy instead of having the ridiculous fight. But of course, being the egoistic bastard he is, such emotion shall not surface.

The huge plastic bag he was carrying fell not far from his feet when he lost his balance, revealing two boxes wrapped in glittering cobalt blue with golden stars wrapping paper, sealing the content. He picked it up and carefully leaned it on the wall.

“At least I don’t look like one” Koki’s quick retort came too soon, earning him a hard kick on his left shin as soon as he finishes his words “Fuck” he screamed, tumbled down, pulling his leg tight and rubs it hard, trying to ease the pain.

Leaving his guard down was a big mistake as Kame took the opportunity on que “I’m sure you need some good Fuck” the younger hissed and jumped on top of the other, crushing in without second thought. Their bodies tangled and stumbled down haphazardly, hitting the small green signboard ironically written ‘Happy Place’, belong to the small store.

Kame yelped in pain as Koki yanked his luscious brown hair violently. One who sees the scene, will definitely assumed the bald guy was jealous with the other CM ready crown. And that is not far from the truth either.

Reacting to the attacked, Kame curled in and bite Koki’s nape in return, an act too familiar with both, usually performed in front of screaming girls. But this is not a performance, not a fanservice ‘KoKame is the new Akame’ tagline fans used to lust about; Kame fully intended to hurt his prey.

They continued strangling each other without care who might be looking, or worst, who might be recoding the scene. They were too engrossed trying to inflict each other physically. They rolled over on the pavement before their human-ball form hit against the dimmed street light forcing them to break their hold on each other, both screaming in absolute pain.

The store’s owner face they visited a moment ago peeked behind the glass door. The wrinkles on his forehead deepen, as his face grew paler by the minute. He reached out for the small sign hanging on the door and turned it around ‘Store Closed’. The lights turn off immediately once the clicking sound of a locking the door was heard. The dimmed street darkens.

Koki and Kame were breathing loudly, scowling in pain as they straighten themselves.

Kame was the first to get back on his feet, putting on his perfect idol mask once again as he scanned the crowd. They were lucky it was late night and the street was abandoned. Both will be deep shit if the picture of them trying to kill each other being leak.

Koki was still on the floor, mumbling incoherently to himself.
Kame looked down at him, wondering whether will they ever grow up. Extending his hand out, Kame offered in uncertain voice “Need a hand?”

His startling expression at the generous offer was obvious, but Koki quickly grabbed it and pulled himself up. He then walked over to a huge plastic bag which carries the same brand with Kame’s purchase. Grabbed it and slide in his arms. He then pulled the small signboard and place it in its original state. Koki was about to thank Kame when the younger’s guy phone beeped loudly, interrupted his line of thoughts.

“Hello” Kame replied cautious. The other end of the line was not delicate though, as Koki overheard the swearing and cursing from the familiar voice before the line was cut off. Kame sighed, grabbing the plastic bag and walked off, leaving the other behind dumbfounded. But after few steps ahead, he turned around and asked “Need a lift?”

Koki’s reaction was natural, like a little helpless boy nodding to the offer, quickly closing the gap. It’s the effect of Kamenashi Kazuya have on everyone, something that he learned during his years in KAT-TUN. They walked in complete silence towards Kame’s car.

Because it means there’s nothing left for us to fight for.’

The air condition was chilling but Koki felt droplet of sweats wetting his bald head. He fidgeted in his seat wondering when was the last time he was seated in the same position, joking about the other bad driving. He wished he could do the same, teasing the driver as the car swirled to right as he tried to avoid a hole on the road.

But he kept quiet. He knows his place.

He’s no longer a KAT-TUN, but that does not mean he didn’t care when tabloid dragged the group name every time he made a wrong decision.

He’s no longer the T in the group, but that does not mean his heart did not aches when he sees the stoic face the remaining members faked during press conferences.

He’s no longer the funny gangster guy of the group, but that does not mean he did not long for moments and chances to joke around, simply to make a certain idol named Kamenashi Kazuya smile.

He hates regret and the set of emotions that comes with it. Sure, he has few, but he never dwells on it. He simply moved on. It was very thing he did when the announcement of his departure made public. But no matter how bad he tried to detach himself from the past, he failed. Because he knew that his past is what shaped his future.

He let out a loud sigh, staring straight at the road, noting that they are nearing their destination as Kame slowed down taking the right turn to a fancy high-rise before stopping at the guardhouse. He has been to the place couple of times but this was the most nerve wrecking for he would say.

Kame went straight to the visitor parking area and parked his expensive car carefully. The black sport car fit in perfectly among other fancy vehicles.

Koki let out a long and loud sigh, not knowing how to break the ice; hoping Kame would understand.

Kame always does, and he did not push. He lowered down the radio and undo his seat belt. He then waits.

Koki let out another 100 years’ worth of sigh before utter the 2 words which have been constantly on his mind “I’m sorry” the words felt so heavy, lacing with all other emotions; but he felt his heart lighten.

Silence engulfed them. Kame let the words sink in before he replied “So” he paused for a dramatic affect. A habit that drives Koki insane “Are you admitting that my gift is better than yours?”

His reply was unexpected, leaving Koki’s stunned “I’m not talking about that silly fight he had in front the toy shop” his hand pointed to their purchases at the back seat “I’m talking about, …”

He was not able to finish his words when Kame hands suddenly crept on his bald head at give it a tender rub.  A soft serene smile formed on his thin lips as he added in the most tender voice “I know” followed by another long pause, but this time the silence was welcoming.

Only Kame’s profile was visible to Koki, most probably trying to hide whatever emotions he’s feeling. Kame then added in a quiet voice “I’m sorry too.”

“Fuck, what happened to you” Jin worried face greeted him, cupping Kame’s face with his fingers as he turned the younger’s face left and right, inspecting the damage “Your manager going to get a fit” he added, then affectionately continue studying every strand of hair that fall out of place. His affections used to drive Kame up the wall, miss-interpreting it as over-protectiveness. Back then he did not know how to appreciate, assuming it will last forever.

Now, he welcomes any act of fondness from the older guy, reminiscing the warmth they used to share.

Jin still was busy inspecting Kame’s appearance before realizing there was another guest shied behind the younger guy. Looking up and down, he asked Koki “Do I really want to know what happened?” He raised his trimmed eyebrow, pulling Kame to his side “But, I’m sure you deserved it” his words were cold but his next action warm the heart. He then let go of Kame to pull Koki’s arm and closed the gap, patting his back “Everyone is waiting for you.”

Kame smiled. Jin is no longer the grudging, whiny and moody guy; rebellious without a cause. He’s now a husband to his beautiful wife, a father to two gorgeous kids.  Akanishi Jin have become an adult, and Kame is proud of him.

“Guys, look who finally decided to grace his presence” Jin craned his neck and announced to whoever listening from inside the house. Then he turned around, resting his hand on Kame’s shoulder “Theia been asking about you. You better stop spoiling my daughter” Jin added, eyeing at the bags Kame was carrying. Kame handed one of the bags and Jin instantly peeked in “And stop sucking up to Meisa” he barked.

Before Kame could reply, her voice was heard from inside and Jin disappeared almost instantly with the bag of pastry. It was amazing how Meisa has such power, Kame chuckled to himself.

The wine coloured walls makes the house look spacious and rich, showing Meisa’s and Jin’s personality through their miss-matched with modern and vintage collection around the house, but he mostly loves the collage picture of polaroid snaps on it, proudly greets the guests at the entrance hall. The stack of pictures keep on growing every time he came to the house.

A soft chuckle escaped when he saw one of Jin’s wedding reception picture; Jin was so wasted, Kame had to dragged him off the wedding cake. He still remembers how furious Meisa was. But seeing that the picture made the cut to their Wall of Fame, Meisa must have forgave her husband.

He has been to their family home a few times, mostly visiting lil Theia. But it has been quite sometimes from his last visit due to his busy schedule. The place still look the same except for the blue balloons and ribbons with ‘Congratulation for the new baby’ written all over it, floating at every corner of the lovely house.

Yuichi waved at him from the dining hall, seems busy arranging food on the middle. Kame waved back and about to join him when he realized he was all by himself. The other guest who came with him was nowhere to be seen.

Kame backtracked and peek outside. Koki was standing sheepishly, with such uncertainty, head down, staring at his ugly shoes. Kame snickered, reminiscing his very first time to the house, all by himself with a bottle of wine in one hand and a box of Meisa’s favourite dessert on the other. He came to congratulate them for tying the knot. It was nerve-wrecking, he almost turns around. But he sure glad he did not.

“What are you standing there for?”

“I’m not sure if…” his words trailed off.

Kame tiptoed out and grabbled Koki’s wrist “Since when do you start to think too much? That’s Yuichi’s role.” He dragged the older guy in and went straight to the living hall. Yuichi and Ueda was at the dining hall. Yuichi waved at while Ueda simply gave a nod, acknowledging them. It was awkward, it was stiff; but it was the first step.

“What happened to you” Yuichi rushed towards Kame, clearly concern over the scandalous bruises visible on his face “You have a CM shooting next Wednesday.”

“Nothing a make-up artist could not cover up”’ he replied nonchalantly, dismissing. He then pulled two identical wrapped boxes from a plastic bag written ‘Happy Place Toy Shop’ and placed one on the side table with other colourful presents. The smaller one he hides behind him. Once happy with the arrangement he continued “Koki started it” mischievously pointing finger at the other.

“I did not” flabbergasted, he denied the accusation.

“You guys got beat up this bad, fighting over whose gift is better for a baby. A baby who have not even see colours” Yuichi exclaimed in disbelief. He has seen so many stupid and distaste fights the boys engaged in, but this surely deserve a place in the top 10.

When he was younger, he has one big question; he just could not figure out why did Johnny-san created KAT-TUN. The man was supposed to be a brilliant man. But he must have lost his mind when he decided to put 6 boys with different personalities in a group; it just doesn’t make any sense. Their characters clashed from the very beginning, it’s amazing all 6 are still alive.

Now, even though he’s much older, wiser he would even add, he still can’t answer the question; ‘Why did the old man decided to create KAT-TUN? But he thanks him for it. They were and still are KAT-TUN; immature rebellious boys, arguing, cursing, fighting all the time for what they stand for, even if it means 6 different things. But, no matter how difficult it was, with the same set of faces he dealt with all the hardship; grew up to be the man he is now.

“It’s more like who have bigger balls” Ueda chirped in, carrying 2 cans of Coke.

“Thanks” Kame happily take the can “Have Jin reveal the name yet?” Kame plopped himself on the magenta coloured settee next to him, sipping the chilled drink.

Taking his attention from Kame, Yuichi stared at the other 2 guys standing in front of him. Koki the ‘gangsta’ seemed cowardly nervous under Ueda’s piercing cold stare when he handed the 2 ndcan of chilled coke. He himself felt a need a drink at that very moment. Something even stronger than coke if he can convince Meisa. The air was so thick, he almost wanted to scream for help; not that there’s anyone that help them if Ueda unleash his wrath.

Ueda was greatly affected when Koki left. He was crushed when Junno followed suit. Sure, Kame was also upset, angry and frustrated over all the scandals. But being Kame, he has established his fall back system; work. He bottled up everything and simply busying himself with work, a project after another. It’s remarkable how their make-up artist able to cover Kame’s eye-bags. But now, Kame seemed to calm a bit, start to eat and sleep properly. Last week, the staffs even gossiped with him that Kame may be seeing someone.

But Ueda was never good at hiding his feelings. He was so angry at Koki, their changing room had to undergo a minor renovation after the scandal first hit them. But when Junno first pulled them aside and told them his plan, Ueda simply fall apart. He distances himself, shutting everyone out. Kame and himself had to pull all sort of things to get their Ueda back. That’s why he got the shock of his life a few hours ago when he opened Jin’s door and saw both Ueda and Junno cheerfully greeted him back with big smiles plastered on their face; almost nauseating.

“Thanks” Koki replied to Ueda.

Ueda winked and walked away. Koki was not the only one stunned, Yuichi felt his jaw hurt, dropping to the floor.  Referring to urban dictionary ‘Awkward’ is a common word overused by kids in junior high almost in the same group with “Lol” and “Random”. Used to try and impress preteen friends after or during a long pause between conversations. Also, used by idiots whenever there is a pause in speech.

“Awkward” Yuichi said it out.

“What do you get for the new born?” Kame ignored his expression. Then he saw Kame’s eyes twinkled when he saw another familiar face. He raised his red can at the taller guy and Junno waved happily at him before Ueda hit him for almost letting go the dish he was holding on. A scene they have not seen in a while.

Yuichi replied “I bought him a soft toy; a Panda.”

“But that is a girl’s toy” Koki blurted out. His faced turned crimson red when he realized his bad habit kicks in.

“I told you he started it” Kame replied with a chuckle. Kame was about to add further when a small voice called for him.

“Kame-Ojichan. You are late” both of her hands were at her tiny waste over her pink tutu. She has her mom’s pretty eyes, but she looks so much like Jin, especially with puffed cheeks, trying to let Kame know she meant it.

Kame stood up and hold both hands open “I’m sorry Theia, but I was late because I had to pick up a gift for you.”

The girl jumps onto his arms gleefully “You are forgiven” she squealed as Kame gave her a spin. Then Kame placed her on his laps before he pulled out the gift box hidden earlier.

Yuichi felt his face hurt for smiling at the scene. Who would have thought the notorious playboy of the group could be the first to get married and build a family? And Kame who everyone thought to Jin's sworn enemy and will not forgive Jin for what he did became Theia’s favourite Ojichan.

“Meisa, the foods look delicious” Junno stated with a big smile plastered on his face, scooping the salad into the salad bowl. Meisa replied with a smile. She was a bit rushed and definitely stressed, most probably worrying that all the guests have arrived but the table is only half ready. And Jin was nowhere to be found, suspected hiding in the baby’s room.

Junno and Ueda were the first to arrive and he had immediately offered Meisa to help out. Though he’s not the really the type that helps out in the kitchen, but he was just thinking ahead an escape option. It has been a while since he meets up with Yuichi and Kame, he was uncertain which mask to put on.

Life has been tough lately. He has planned out everything but nothing follow his plan. All come crushes to the ground. He just wanted to be himself for himself. A notion so genuine, it carries such big consequences he did not thought was possible. He was naïve. He was stupid.

But he was lucky. Because during his darkest moment, his angel was there, reaching out a helping hand. Ueda was the one who got hurt the most over his decision. But he was there with him to pick up the pieces.

“Can you speed up a bit” Ueda voice jolted him back to reality “It’s just salad, you can pour it onto the bowl” he shook his head in disbelief. Ueda stood still next to him, observing every move before he added in almost a whisper “You don’t have to hide in the kitchen you know.”

Junno was about to deny when a voice interrupted them “Need a hand?” Koki was grinning, obviously trying his best to hide his nervousness. Normally Junno is oblivious to the environment and to other’s emotions. But at that very moment, he knew exactly how Koki must have felt. Because it was the exact thing he was dealing with.

“Fold these napkins” Ueda ordered with a soft smile lingered at the end of his lips “I need to find Jin before Meisa explode.”

“Jin, where are you?” Ueda’s hushed voice swept over in the long pearl white corridor.

“Here” a voice answered from the room at the end. The small room look spacious with the light-yellow wall, decorated with glow in the dark stars and moon. Jin was seated on the 1 seater sofa, holding a small baby boy wrapped in blanket, firmly in his arms, cautiously cradling it “You know, Meisa just doesn’t trust me with him. I had to sneak to hold my own baby.”

He had to muffled his laugh “Sorry Jin, but I totally agree with her. I would not even trust my dogs with you.”

Jin pouted his lips, annoyed. But Ueda doesn’t care. He pulled a pillow and sat on the floor, squeezing himself to see the sleeping baby boy “How does it feel to be a dad?” I was such a random question.

“Out of this world” Jin replied without a second thought.

Ueda nodded with a soft smile “I guess it was the right decision. Now you are living the dream; the best of both world.”

Jin shook his head “To achieve this dream, I had to sacrifice KAT-TUN’s. There are times I still ask myself ‘What if I stay?”

“You should not” Ueda stood up and pat Jin on the back, bending lower to plant a kiss on the baby’s forehead.

He used to hate Jin. He used to blame Jin for most of the misfortunes. Back then, he was young and selfish. All he ever care is about his dream. KAT-TUN was formed to be even bigger than Arashi. He wanted it so badly it hurts when the world has other plans. So, when Jin left, he was angry, frustrated, alone; he could not accept it. He went up the roof when Koki left. But when Junno did the same, only then he realized his friends did not abandon him; they did not even change. They simply grow up.

******************

The food was looking delicious. Meisa have outdone herself this time. Jin still remembered the first dinner he had at their newlywed home. Meisa cooked for them, and he had the worst time trying to finish the food. He may be good at acting, but he was definitely not good enough to fake it back then. Meisa refused to talk to him for a couple of days after the incident. But looking at the displayed of feast in front of his eyes, he is proud to show-off to the guys what marriage is all about.

Little Theia was on playing on Kame’s lap, playing with the tiny doll house he bought for her. He really need to slow talk with Kame.

“’Kame-Ojichan, will you love baby brother more than you love me?” she asked so innocently, twirling the small bunny with her fingers.

And Kame fall prey “I will love both of you equally” Kame replied and kissed her cheek.

“Such a politically correct answer”’ Jin laughed, handed him the bowl of salad which he shook his head, pointing at the macaroni and cheese instead. Who eats salad for celebration dinner he mumbled loudly. The table was almost set but only Yuichi and Kame seated. The rest were still busy walking in and out of the kitchen.

He looked at Theia and saw that his little girl was not too happy with the answer. Kame sensed it immediately, a trait Jin been accustomed to since their youth. Kame bent over and kissed the other cheek and added “But you will always be my favourite.”

She smiled from ear to ear.

“You going to be in trouble in the future” Jin replied and placed the baked macaroni in front of him. Theia pointed at it happily, instructing Kame to feed her.

“Papa, I’m going to marry Kame-ojichan when I grow up” she professed her love, eyes sparkled wih determination.

“No, you are not” he felt ridiculous for sounding so damn serious with a child.

Kame just laughed and added “I will be too old for you when you grow up.”

“It’s ok. I will take care of you” the little girl was so determined, Jin sees himself in her.

Being an idol is tough. Being a father at the same time put the cherry on top. Theia barely five years old but his worries multiple every day. One day, when his daughter old enough to read and do internet search, she will bound to read about his idol past, about the scandals whether false true and she will definitely come upon ‘Akame’. He has no idea how he’s going to explain to her.

He was still sulking over Theia’s love confession to Kame when a loud crash heard from the kitchen. He rushed to the kitchen followed by Yuichi and Kame with Theia firmly in the younger guy’s arms. Both stay rooted at the entrance staring at the chaos. The famous cheese baked tarts Kame bought was splattered on the floor. Junno squatting on the floor eyes watery, apologising profusely while Ueda and Koki were throwing curses at him. Meisa finally exploded, crying her eyes out not far from the scene.

Jin rushed to his wife, pulling her up and away from the chaos. He seated her at their dining table and gave her a sip of wine convincing her that wine is good for confinement.

Kame then approached them with a reassuring smile, Theia snuggling close to him “Its ok Meisa, this thing can happen to anyone. I bought extra tarts at home. I’ve asked someone to bring it here. Let’s have dinner first. You have outdone yourself, this is a feast. I can’t wait to try the chicken”

Her sniffles stopped. She slowly nodded. Jin’s annoyance grew, throwing invisible dagger at Kame. Jealousy hits him seeing how easy Kame captured the hearts of his queens. But he can’t blame Meisa or Theia, because Kame’s charm has been the very reason Kame was his first love as well. Maybe he should ask Kame to run for President. To give him a reason to vote.

*************

Everyone was seated at the living hall, sipping their coffee and green tea. Everyone except Junno who stuck in the kitchen. He was being punished for the chaos he created a while ago. But Junno was more than glad to make amends.

Theia was so sleepy, she wobbles when she walked, but refused to go to bed, clinging to her Kame-Ojichan.

Meisa was cradling the little baby in her arms, rocking gently; looking motherly. Jin sat next to her, arms around her protectively, chatting up with Koki.

Koki was seated next to Ueda. No awkwardness, no thick air around them. It seemed they have buried the hatchet by bullying Junno a while ago.

The doorbell rang and Kame stood up on cue “That must be our desserts” Kame was about to walk to the door when Jin signalled him to sit. Kame obliged, returned to his seat next to Yuichi who was busy checking his schedule for the week.

“I’ll get it” Jin rushed to the door, and returned shortly with a familiar face, looking chirpy and fresh “Look who the turtle brought in” he eyed Kame suspiciously. He then slides his arms around his best friend and tugged him tight “Pi, I’ve heard rumours that you are working odd job. But I didn’t know you do house to house delivery as well” he said with a suggestive smile, before turning to Kame with a smug, challenging him to rebuff “Kame, did you put your house key under the door mat again?” Kame flashed his signature smile, not taking the bait.

“Pi-Ojichan” Theia greeted happily and pulled Pi’s hand. Pi was grateful for the interruption. The eyes on him was too much for him to maintain his poker face. Yes, he grew up with them; eating, training and even sleeping with the boys. They laugh together, cry in the dark and sparred whenever frustration or boredom hit. But at that moment, he was stepping on a very delicate thin line.

Jin took the box of desserts from his friend’s hand and disappeared to the kitchen.

Yuichi elbowed Kame before whispering to him “Should I start preparing for another scandal.”

“I believe you have enough practice already” Kame replied casually. He gave Yamapi a nod and a reassuring smile.

“At least you need to warn us earlier. I need to practice my poker face” Yuichi insisted “Especially when a nosy question like ‘when did you know about them? came up.”

Kame paused a bit before a mischievous smile curved on his lips “Then, consider yourself warned.”

“Shit” Yuichi exclaimed aloud, earning him confusing stares from the others.

“Nakamaru, mind your language” Meisa shushed, holding her babies ears.

Yuichi felt his face flushed in heat. He nodded, apologized and disappeared; making an excuse to check why Jin and Junno taking so long.

But the seat next to Kame was not vacant for too long; Yamapi and Theia filled it almost instantly “Are you sure it’s alright for me to be here?” he leaned in and spoke in a hushed voice.

“Of course” Kame chuckled to himself “It’s so unlike you to be nervous being around friends.”

Yamapi shook his head, few strands of his brown mob covered his forehead. He then added in a smaller voice “I feel like this is ‘Meet the Family’ session.”

Kame raised an eyebrow but gently pat Yamapi’s on the lap “I guess you are right. It is ‘Meet the Family’. Slightly dysfunctional family”’ Kame replied with a smile. Theia suddenly jumped off Yamapi’s lap and disappeared.

Yuichi returned with small plates and napkins. Jin and Junno followed behind with the Cheese Tarts. But this time, Jin was the one carrying the stack of sweetness and placed it on the coffee table, in the middle of living hall. He was the first to take the yellow pastry and placed it on the plate, offering it to Meisa. In an exchange, he asked to hold the baby. Her musical laughter filled the room, cynical. But she stood up, telling Jin to take her seat before she places their bundle of joy in his arms.

Theia came back with a hard cover book titled ‘Lilo & stitch’ asking her favourite Ojichan to read it for her. He read the story aloud. He almost felt tears welled up when he read the famous quote…

‘ Ohana means family.
Family means nobody left behind or forgotten’
