Part 5 Summary : Jin kept on teasing Kame and making him further confused with his bold statements. But he promised to clear things out once he return from L.A,

Unfortunately the story seems to have its own way of flowing...gomene. But not to worry, we almost reach its end already *wink*

The room fell into an awkward silence, filling only with faint ticking sound from an antique looking clock hung on the wall. Both of the guys were locking eyes as if waiting who will bail out first. The soul searching act ended with Kame diverting his gazed dejectedly, worried that Jin will hear his ridiculous heartbeats if the silence continues. He was biting his lips trying to think of a proper comeback to such bold statement from the host, but he failed miserably.
Sensing the profound discomfort, Jin offered to break the silence. Unfortunately his next speech stirred Kame further “Have anyone told you how cute you look when you are blushing. But that pinkish colored cheek will get you in trouble some day.”
Kame squirmed in his seat ‘Come on. Pull yourself together’ he chanted silently trying to even his breathing. He counted to 10 before leaned back, crossed his legs and flashed Jin his careful calculated smirk “Have anyone told you that you are such a tease? And you’ll get in trouble one day” He was nervous as hell but his gut instinct was telling him to act on it.
The reply was calmly spoken, challenging the other. But then he noticed Jin’s eyes sparkled excitedly “I did receive such remarks before. And I assure you I’m already in trouble”
Kame tried to swallow his invisible anxiousness “Well, I should be careful then cause I don’t really play such game” as he carefully arranged his words, Kame observed Jin carefully trying to read the guy.
“That makes the two of us then, because it’s never a game for me as well” Jin’s lopsided smile was making Kame nervous, shaking his ground.
His only aims at that moment was to remain calm, hoping his nervousness won’t show in his voice “But you seems so natural at it. I bet you have tons of practices.”
Jin let out a musical laughter “You are wrong” Jin narrowed his eyes, emphasizing the smug on his face “I only tease those who I like.”
Kame let out a nervous laughter before adding “Is that a confession?”
His wicked smiled appeared again as Jin tilted his head “It’s up to you to interpret it. I’m pretty much open for any suggestion.”
“I’m sure you are just teasing to lighten up the mood” Kame offered a fake assuring smile, clasping his hands tightly.
Then suddenly Jin became all serious as he inched closer to the edge and his piercing eyes stared directly into Kame’s brown orbs “Stop thinking too much, just listen to your heart.”
‘My heartbeats are too deafening’ Kame replied silently. He then heard his resolve crumbled as hot flushes rushed to his cheek. “Such an interesting conversation we have here. Would love to stay and chat but unfortunately it’s really late and I should not take your time further since you are travelling tomorrow and all.” He stood up and bowed politely before walking towards his escape.
Unfortunately Jin was quicker and much more determine. He snatched Kame’s upper arm and pulled him closer questioning him breathily “Are you running away?”
His long lashes fluttered as Kame blinked furiously trying to digest what was happening; he stuttered “No, I’m not running away.”
Kame felt the strong fingers gripping around his arms tighten “You have no idea how happy I am right now to meet you again after all these years.”
His boldness surprises Kame making his mouth dry and not a single word come out.
“I’m sure you have so many uncertainties and questions” Jin continued without a trace of apprehension. Which Kame was only able to reply with a soft nodded. The taller guy inched his face closer and whispered “Let’s have this conversation again once I return from LA”

“Kame, what are you doing calling me at this hour” Pi replied groggily as he tried to reach for the bed lamp. Then once his room was dimly lighted he wailed “Ehhhh, its 2am!”
“Pi I can’t sleep” Kame replied from the other end.
Pi rolled over to the other side “So?” he yawned loudly onto the receiver “Do you want to have phone sex then?”
“Pi” Kame whined and continued “I’m in a crisis right now.”
The good housemate slowly sits up even though his eyes were still closely shut “What kind of crisis? Don’t you think it’s too early in the morning to have any crisis?”
He heard Kame sighed softly “It’s Jin.”
In that instant Pi opened his eyes “You’re forgiven.”
“Eh?! For what?” confused voice came from Kame.
“For waking me up at 2 in the morning of course! Now go on. What Jin Akanishi crisis are you having over there?” Pi replied all giddy and excited.
Kame heaved heavily and Pi could picture his housemate rolling his eyes in annoyance before replying “I’m confused.”
Pi really wanted to tease Kame further, but knowing how serious the matter is for the other, he carefully encouraged him to continue “About what? Is he treating you right?”
“Of course” Kame replied urgently.
“So what is the problem?” Pi plopped another pillow behind his back.
“He kept on teasing me and playing with words. Making bold statements and confession but I can’t really tell whether he meant it or not” Kame explained exasperatedly.
Pi was definitely wide awake with a soft smile on his lips “Kame-chan, it doesn’t really matter whether he meant it or not. The real question you should ask yourself is, do you like him?”
“Well, what not to like. He’s good looking, charming with great sense of humor and his devotion to Reika is such an amazing thing” Kame replied earnestly.
“Kame, have you fell for him then?” the question was direct and Pi knew it hit Kame as it went unanswered.
Then soft sighed was heard, followed with a brisk answer “Yes I have.”

“Reika, you’ll be good okay” Jin patted the little girl gingerly. It was only 5am in the morning but Reika had insisted to send him off. Both were waiting at the living hall with Reika carefully placed on his laps.
She hugged him tighter, hiding her soft yawn on his shoulder “I’ll listen to Kame-sensei” she promised sweetly.
“Ano, I think your ride is here” Kame interrupted kindly.
Both of them stood up with Jin still holding Reika’s hand while he pulled his small luggage with the other. Kame assisted him by holding his briefcase.
All three walked towards the gate where a silver sedan was already waiting. Jin released her hand and walked towards the car boots and placed his luggage in. Then he walks toward the two again and squatted down to hugged Reika “I’m going to miss you.”
Then when he returned to his feet, Kame passed the briefcase to him. Jin skillfully make sure he touches Kame’s hand when he took the handle from him “I’m going to miss you too” he whispered.
Instead of the usual sheepish smile, Kame’s lips pursed beautifully into a confident and hopeful smile “Please be safe.”
Jin felt so blissfully happy and replied “Wait for my return” before he turns around and cautiously gets into the car. He bids his goodbye as the car accelerated through the silent and empty road.
“Who’s that?” the driver asked. “I didn’t know you hired a babysitter?”
He looked at his collogue and flashed his trademark smirk “You wont believe me even if I tell you, Ryo.”
“Oh come on. Enough with the mystery already” the driver complained in annoyance.
Jin shook his head affirmatively before drifting his gazed to empty streets ahead “He’s my little secret.”

“So what you want for lunch?” Kame asked cheerfully while he tried to tie the pink apron around his waist.
“Fried rice” she answered with a wide grinned.
“You already had it for breakfast” Kame arched his nicely groom brows.
“But I love your fried rice” she replied with a fake pout and crossed arms.
Kame let out a hearty laugh seing how ease Reika was with him “Alright, one fried rice coming right up.”
She jumped happily “I’ll help you set up the table.”
He nodded and quickly makes himself comfortable in the kitchen. Everything was neatly arranged and Kame was really amazed how organized everything was. ‘Jin such a great guy’ he thought to himself with an idiotic smile plastered on his face.
Once they finished up their lunch, Kame helped out with the laundry before both of them proceed to Reika’s study room “So, where should we start first?”
“Mathematics” she pulled out her exercise book and invited Kame to sit with her. An hour later, she finished all her homework.
“That was really fast” Kame remarked, patted her head gently. “You’re really smart.”
Reika happily cleared her books and carefully leaned her school bag to a small pinkish cupboard. Then she pulled one of the drawer “Do want to see my album?”
“I’ll love that” Kame instantly answered, trying to hide his giddiness over the chance of seeing Jin’s picture.
The little girl pulled out two big bright pink albums and placed it on the small table. She pulled her chair and sat next to her sensei “These are my baby pictures.”
“Aww, you are so cute” Kame exclaimed as he flips the pages.
“That’s papa” she pointed at nervous looking Jin with baby Reika in his arms. He looked so young with slightly shorter hair.
“Doesn’t he look handsome” she exclaimed proudly.
“He sure does” Kame replied with a genuine smile.
“And this is Aunty Mariko and Uncle Reio” she pointed out at a family photo.
“They look so lovely together” Kame smiled brightly. But then when he almost finishes both album, he notice something was amiss “Sorry to be asking, but I didn’t see any picture of your mom.’
She shook her head and softly replied “I don’t have any picture of her.”
Kame gently placed his hand on her tiny shoulder “Sorry if I make you sad.”
“It’s okay. Its not like she’s dead” she replied blatantly.
The statement was unexpected and it shock the young sensei “Eh, but I thought…”
The brave girl looked up; staring at her teacher with a faint sad smile on her lips “She left me when I was only 3 months old. I never met her since.”
“Not once?” Kame asked quietly, staring deep into her clear brown eyes.
Reika shook her head again “She send presents every year on my birthday. I kept it, but I never open any of it.”
With that last statement, Kame pulled her into his arms and hugged her tightly. There were no tears in her eyes, but Kame knew she was crying inside. They stayed in each other embrace for almost 10 minutes when she finally wiggled herself free. Kame gingerly rest his palm on her head and said “You are such a brave girl and lucky to have a great father.”
She was about to reply when faint doorbell was heard “Someone at the door” Kame rose to his feet and rushed to the door, forgotten that he was still in Akanishi residence.
As soon as he opened the door, a cheerful voice greeted him “We’re back” which later followed with a confused exclaimed “Eh, who are you?”
Kame smiled nervously, staring at the woman he had seen in numerous pictures since last night “Mariko-san right?”
She clasped her palms to her mouth in shock then slowly “Are you Jin’s new partner?”
Kame was about to deny it when suddenly a young guy appeared “Why are you still out here?” he asked, not noticing Kame who was fidgeting at the door.
Then Kame saw he squirmed in pain when his wife stepped on his feet purposely “Reio, behave yourself.”
The guy stared at her with a pout before sporting the exact same expression she shown earlier “Eh, who are you?”
“He’s Jin’s new partner” she proudly announced, dismissing Kame’s horror expression.
