“Reika, your father’s here” the lady in pink apron shouted as she opened the door for the guy clad in formal office wear.
“Coming!” a soft voice shouted from the second floor and followed with small steps rushing through the stairs.
“Reika please don’t run down the stairs. It’s dangerous” the lady shouted back in deep frowned when her guest suddenly handed her a small parcel “What is this Jin?”
“Just something useful your vacation” he replied with a small smile which grew bigger when the little girl that have been running from upstairs, lunged herself into his open arms.
“Papa, you are early today” the little girl exclaimed excitedly.
He happily twirled her around and kissed her cheek before placing her back to the ground “Aunty Mariko needs to pack for her stuff tonight. Uncle Reio and Aunty Mariko are going for their holiday starting tomorrow.”
“Eh, does that mean I can’t come here tomorrow? I don’t want to stay alone at home” her voice was a bit shaky, clearly worried.
“Of course you won’t be staying at home alone. Don’t worry ne~” he patted his daughter’s head lovingly.
“Jin are sure you are going to be alright?” Mariko asked quietly right after Reika left them to pack her stuff.
Jin nodded affirmatively “Don’t worry I’ll manage. Don’t think too much and just enjoy the trip. Both of you really deserve the break.”
Mariko smiled sweetly and nodded “Yeah, we have been putting of this holiday for awhile already. I’m seriously going to kill your brother in he suddenly cancel on me again.”
The beautiful man let out a soft laughter listening to his sister-in-law rant “I’m sure he would not dare.”
But then suddenly her face darkens slightly “Jin, I know you are not going to like what I’m going to say.”
“Then don’t say it Mari-chan” Jin warned her with a smirk.
She shook her head, ignoring the threat “In time like this, it would be great if you actually have someone to help out. I mean, don’t you think it’s already the right time for you to find someone new”
Jin let out a heavy sighed “I don’t have time.”
Mariko was about to disagree with Jin’s decision, but she was cut by the small girl, stepping in with her school bag “Papa I’m ready.”

“Now, you’ll be a good girl and listens to your teachers, okay” Jin leaned in and kiss her cheek. “I’ll pick you up during my lunch break.”
“Papa, I am a good girl” Reika nodded happily, stepping out of the car with a big smile “See you later.”
Jin looked at her little girl running through the yard and happily clinging to another man standing at the school entrance.
He had heard it from Mariko that the school was suspiciously recruiting Ikemen as their teachers. Of course it sound absurd at first, but after few encounters with the staff, Jin can’t shake the thoughts out. Even from that distance Jin could see that the stranger was not an ordinary looking teacher. ‘Weird, it’s just a pre-school’ he shook his head and accelerated forward, realizing he got a meeting in an hour time.
***************
It was almost 2.00pm and the school was almost empty. As usual, the teachers will be rotating to do the rounds right after school ends. And that particular day was Kamenashi’s sensei turns.
The young sensei was diligently checking one class after another. Making sure all the lights and fans were switch off. While he was in Class B, he heard soft muffled cry from the class next door. Urgently he left the class he was inspecting and rushed towards the source of the suspicious sound. After all, he was the form teacher for Class A.
From the glass door, he saw one of his students palming her face, crying all alone. Kame carefully opened the door and stepped in “Reika-chan, Is that you?”
Kame’s voice startled her but she remained seated and buried her face on the desk. Kame pulled a chair and sat next to her. Then he gingerly patted her head waiting for her to calm down. They stay in comfort silence till the small girl finally stops muffling and slowly sit up.
Kame took out his checkered handkerchief and wiped her face gently, noticing the puffy eyes. She then took the cloth from Kame and dabbed in on her swollen eyes. “I’ll wash it pass it tomorrow ne~” she said softly with a clear voice.
“Don’t worry about it” Kame shook his head, smiling at the polite little girl. “But I would like to know why did you cry? Did someone hurt you?”
Reika shook her head eagerly but then looked down again.
Kame sensing something was wrong, but pushing her to talk will definitely would not work. “Have you taken your lunch?”
The small girl shook her head “My father supposed to fetch me up during his lunch break.”
Kame nodded and stood up “Let’s get something to eat and wait for him outside then.” Kame then helped Reika pack her stuff and held her back for her.
They dropped by the cafeteria and bought 3 sandwiches. Thanks to the nice weather, both of them decided to have their lunch at the picnic table right in front of the school. Kame was the only one doing small talks while his student smiled sweetly listening to him.
Then after awhile, sensing that the little girl was getting anxious waiting for her father, Kame suggested for her to start doing her homework while waiting.
Reika has always been an assertive student, always ready with an answer. But at that particular moment, she cringed at the mention of Homework. Kame was sure it’s the reason she cried earlier “It’s okay Reika-chan, I’ll help you out with it.”
The girl looked up at her beloved sensei with mix emotions. Then she slowly opened her bag and pulled out a piece of drawing paper. She carefully laid it on the table before digging for her pencil colors.
“Oh, you have drawing assignment” Kame remarked seeing the empty paper. Then he saw a small title at the right corner of the paper. “What’s the topic?”
She let out a heavy sighed before replying in a whisper “Mother’s day.”
Her answers immediately solved the mystery. Kame knows all her students very well, and the fact that Reika had lost her mother since she was only an infant did not miss him. Kame never met Akanishi-san before, but he heard a great deal of him from other teachers, saying that he was a devoted father.
Kame then circled around the table and sat next to his student “Do you love your father?”
The question surprised Reika but she quickly replied “I love him so much.”
“Is he the one who prepare your bento every day?” Kame asked even though he already knows the answer.
Reika nodded with a smile “He will wake up early to prepare breakfast.”
“Is he always there to hug you when you feel like crying?” Kame asked further, sensing the warm atmosphere between them.
“All the time” she replied.
Kame smiled further “Does he check your homework at night?”
Reika let out a small chuckled “He’s more strict then sensei.”
“Does he tugged you in bed and tell you bedtime story?” Kame patted her silky brown hair.
The little girl smiled sweetly “Every single night.”
“Then why don’t you draw him for this assignment” Kame suggested gently.
“But he’s my father” Reika replied in slight frustration. “I don’t have a mother” she added grimly, bowing her head lower.
“Reika-chan” Kame called softly, tilting her chin up “Your father has been doing two roles all this while. He’s the father and mother at the same time. I believe he will be the right person for you to draw.”
The little girl grim expression slowly changed brighter. As soon as the idea finally sink in, she beamed excitedly, relieved that her problem was answered. She hugged her beloved sensei tightly “Thank you.” Reika quickly grabbed her pencil and start drawing lightly. But few seconds later she stopped again “But I don’t know how to draw Papa’s office wear.”
Kame let out an amused laughter “Why don’t you draw him in a pink apron instead.”
“He does wear pink apron at home” Reika giggled excitedly before returning to the drawing.
Reika was back to her bubbly self again, starting to talk about her father proudly. From the conversation, Kame realized Akanishi-san have been such a great father, raising the little girl all by himself.
They were totally absorbed in their conversation when suddenly a deep voice interrupted them from behind “Reika.”
Both of them turned around immediately. There stood a clean shaven, tall and muscular, good looking guy with teary eyes at the sight of his precious girl. He then scooped Reika into his arms and kissed her cheek “I’m so sorry I’m late. I tried to call the school, but no one picks it up.”
“Papa. It’s okay. Kamenashi sensei stayed with me. He even helped with my homework” she replied cheerfully.
The doting father turned around and saw the gorgeous teacher he was staring in the morning. Reika jumped to the ground and hugged him
“Sensei this is my Papa.”
Kame smiled earnestly at Reika cuteness before realizing the man before him already extended his hand out “Akanishi Jin.”
“Kamenashi Kazuya” he replied, taking the strong hand into his grips, sensing a deep sensation of the warm touched. Fully unaware of how fate really works and how the encounter will change their life forever.
