Title:  Sam, Uninhibited

Disclaimer: Not mine.

A/N: This is for the episode Sam, Interrupted on the summer_sam_love  Celebration.  Much thanks to sendintheklowns  for the beta help and for her general love of drugged up Sam.  After writing this, I have to admit, I’m sort of envious of Sam and his drugs :)  Although I have no idea if my drugged up Sam sounds drugged or just OOC.

Pretty intens. Not even with all the drugs could things get better for Sam. He reallly had a raw deal from the beginning, but he's wrong, Dean did the right thing to save him.

Loved it, thanks for sharing.

Although Dean's self esteem gets all the focus on the show, I actually think Sam's level of self hatred is far more troubling. Like you say, not even the drugs could really help him.

Thanks!

This hurt to read. I think you presented Sam's internal struggle very clearly here, his clarity in the midst of the drugs...

I don't often feel like I need to give Sam a hug after a story, even the h/c ones, but this one...he needs someone to tell him to give himself a break.

Really effectively written, both in the idea and how you fulfilled it. The repetition really makes it feel like someone spaced out on something.

I'm glad the drugged out effect came across! I wasn't sure--it's hard for me to gauge my own writing.

And I spent most of S5 wishing SOMEONE would give Sam a hug. He needed it.

Thanks!

I love this! I love how you describe Sam's internal battle and how the writing is "all over the place" as if we really were seeing the images of Sam's mind

Nobody does Sam's stream of consciousness quite like you do. The way he see-saws between giddy and despair is a thing of beauty. And at this point in the season his responses in your fic seem totally reasonable. In character yet oh so sad.

You rock!

Aw, thank you! You remain one of the critical parts of my writing process, so I thank you for that as well :)

I know I've said this to you before ... but I love how you get/see Sam. It's exactly how I view his character. That's why your stories always resonate with me so strongly. They ring deeply true. Excellent character study.

That always means a lot. I feel like I sort of exist at some weird fringe of fandom, so knowing that I'm not alone in how I see Sam is quite reassuring.

Thanks :)
