Lest anyone out there in blog land be totally jealous of my trip, it POURED rain today--the day I rented my bike here in Amsterdam.
Once you make the decision that you are going to get totally soaked, it's really not so bad! Bikes rule over cars and peds here, so it is smooth riding. I saw many locals talking on cell phones, schlepping multiply ( Read more... )

You were looking forward to a sun shiny day of riding around a beautiful European city on your first-ever trip to Amsterdam. It didn't turn out that way. That must be disappointing.

I have to say, I don't ride in the rain in Portland, so this is momentous for me.
So yea, it is great!
