Not now, I do not have time for this, why must...

I have as of yet been unable to draw any conclusive findings. Subjects generally revive regardless of what method is used to put them down, and of the few who have not revived, there is no linking factor between them.

I am indeed familiar with him, it is difficult not to be here in the City, as he frequently makes his presence known. As for 'ultimate failure', I hesitate to label any effort of his in that way, given that we are unfamiliar with his endgame.

'Heartless'? I had not heard of this before. Are there such creatures in the City?

I wonder if the body were to be completely broken down, if someone could recover from that... but I suppose it would depend on the nature of our subject...

And you're right of course. I shouldn't make assumptions off of what he casually mentioned over the network to me... he very well may have some great design of which no one is aware.

This experiment will be to 'create' one of these shadow creatures. I'm quite eager to participate in this project as soon as possible. Mr. Xemnas has informed me that we'll need to find a way to contain the creature once it's created. Apparently, they can be quite dangerous if left to their own resources. Exciting...

I have indeed tried that, with similar results to any other method used.

From what I know of him, he does not seem to be one to have aims so easily discerned.

Ah...I see. It does seem to be interesting, but will it relate in any way to our studies regarding the City?

Erm. It seems that several of my notes--ah, caught fire during the earthquake. Only a minor setback, hopefully!

Carl, I hope that you sustained no injuries? Paperwork can easily be replaced, even if it means a delay in a project...

No, no... I wasn't present, fortunately. The delay might be more sizable than I had anticipated, actually, but I assure you that I'll have something to show for myself soon enough.

That's quite alright, I understand. Do you need help with any cleanup at the lab? Also, if upon closer inspection any of your equipment is damaged, just send me a list and I'll be sure to have it replaced quickly.

A few things were thrown around, unfortunately. However there was little to no damage to the most important things, and with their creation having not yet begun the City will not see any rogue Heartless.

I'm glad to hear that things were not worse where you're at, Mr. Xemnas.

I'd like to meet with you as soon as possible to discuss the project of the Heartless. I'm quite excited to hear more about the possibilities of such a creation. Perhaps dinner tonight? I'll pick up the tab of course...

I would be glad to meet with you over dinner tonight to discuss the details of their creation.

Excellent~! I'm sure I can find someone to cover me at the hospital while we meet. I've spoken to one of the other founders in the company and he seems to share my interest in seeing what can be done with this...

Would you need any assistants to be assigned to you for this project? Or do you prefer to work on your own?

This was completely unexpected, we never anticipated earthquakes and we should have.

I suppose that with so many other things going on, it's difficult to anticipate everything... I wonder if a typhoon will be next? Hopefully not...

Or a tsunami, we do live in an island.

I shudder to think of the consequences of such an event... hopefully there's some sort of contingency for a disaster of that magnitude. Would the 'deities' do such a thing to their experiment? Perhaps if we were no long er of any use...

The Major, Doctor Goldsmith? It has to be a coincidence.

I'm unsure unless you tell me more about him.

Hm. An interesting man.

He speaks with a German accent, and seems to have a penchant for anarchy on a wide scale basis. I saw a video of him just once, he'd set vampires upon some poor victims for the whole network to see. It was really quite... horrific. Oh but the blood...

There was a major assault against him just a few days ago, and I believe him to be in the authorities hands by now. Does this man sound familiar to you?

The one thing I can't seem to be able to figure out... is 'why'. What his motives are...
