I'm back from Baldymore. She's got a fine family, and I think I was liked, particularly by Lisa's mom. The wedding was fun, though I've only got one other wedding to compare it to. The new Les Savy Fav is out, and it's pretty darn good! It's a bit of a departure in that it sounds a lot less chaotic than earlier albums, but it still sounds like them. I wrote this and then forgot to actually post it last Thursday:The house is now mine! Actually it was officially mine yesterday afternoon, but I didn't get the keys until today. Last evening I spent a good chunk of time just sorting through papers, and shredding most of them. I had so many that I took the bulk of those to the shred bin at work! ( Read more... )

Escrow closes next Thursday. Then it's all mine! I'm largely done with switching utilities over and whatnot. It's a bit complicated because of the way I have things with current and old roommates. There are more photos in the photostream. Behold!

I made an offer on a house today. It's a pretty great place, I think, and at a price point with which nothing else of similar quality can compete. The interior has been well maintained, it's large (for a 2/1), and the back patio is just about perfect. It's a block and a half from Morley Field! It's very nice being consistently happy. My normal mode is "good enough but something's missing," so it's very nice (to say the least) to have that big missing piece for once. I've been enjoying my time with Lisa quite a bit. We went to see Trans Am with Zombi on Thursday, and both were very good. Zombi played a "tight" set, and I was expecting it to be the standout of the night, but Trans Am played a better set (or at least more concert-friendly) than I remember from the past.
