they aren't that scary, mostly a sharply piquant saltiness. go to chinatown and get some congee with lean pork and thousand year old egg (ji dan shou rou zhou).
There was a place in NY's Chinatown that S* and I saw that seemed to specialize in congee (maybe there's more than one, but this seemed to be the go-to place.) We didn't try it at the time, but I'm gonna go back there and give it a whirl. I'll report back! :)
i think you should do beats....and bruseel sprouts but not together. can you imagine biting into a pickled yummy brussel? god, i am so hungry and have no idea what im eating.
