What about a cropped denim? I have the same problem with regular denim jackets, if I get them big enough to go around my hips then I just look like a giant box! The cropped ones are great though since they stop just about the hips and you can buy them so they are fitted at the top.

Men's denim jackets look great on me because they aren't cut like women's. I found a great one at goodwill for like $5 a couple of years ago that I still wear and love. Also, you might even look into dying it black-I've wanted to do that, because I love black denim, but I wanna get a second awesome men's denim jacket first to be sure I don't fuck up the only one.
