I have this year's buckle riding boots from LB -- bought them at the Labor Day 40% off sale. Mine are size 9 (why can they not come in half sizes?!? my size 8.5 feet don't like sliding around!), and they just barely zip all the way up on my 19" calves. I can wear them with tights, but definitely not with leggings, let alone jeans tucked in. Also, the zipper feels like it's going to gasp its dying breath at any second when I zip them. I'll be stunned if they're still in one piece at the end of boot season. Basically I'd say they're better than no boots at all, but overall I'm not impressed, and I wouldn't pay more than this 40% off price for them.

there's a just-under-the-knee style at LB with a fabric back that is very, very stretchy- the 12 fit my 23 inch calves. I bought them and their western-inspired ankle boot neighbors, but I think I'll be taking them back, unfortunately. the bottom of the tall pair is very, very slick, and neither pair are very comfortable. I was trying these to see if they could help me avoid buying another $300 pair, but i don't think it worked.

last year i got a pair of boots at widewidths.com made by JJ footwear. they are very high quality, real leather, real, comfortable sole, and go up to 23 inch calves. but, the foot runs a bit small. I usually wear between an 11 and a 12, and the 12s are a bit tight. my next pair will be a 13.

www.BootsForBroads.com! Custom-made boots that will fit you exactly! It's an Australian company, and the boots are hand-made in Vietnam, and shipped to you right from the maker.

I ordered a pair earlier this year and I LOVE them! I even lucked into a free shipping promotion, so that was awesome. They arrived almost exactly four weeks after I ordered them, and they even included a really nice storage bag. They don't have a lot of different styles, but what they do have are all classic and the workmanship is really top-notch. Totally friggin' worth it.

I bought Ros H.'s as others have mentioned (on a great sale from Amazon last year) and they still weren't wide enough, but I added a Boot Band (http://www.bootband.com/) and that worked perfectly for my 22-23" calves.

I looked at these last year but by the time I discovered them they were sold out for the season. Hopefully I can snag some this season and finally wear boots.

I have size 21 or 22 inch calves, but I also have cankles thanks to somehow managing to sprain both my ankles 4 time each growing up. Other than a pair of Uggs that I only wear as snow boots, I haven't had much success with boots. I bought a pair of boots from WideWidthBoots.com, they felt nice and sturdy, but there was not enough give in the boot to get them past my ankles and I had to return them. In fact I have only had success buying boots from Torrid. The last pairs I bought were 6 years ago and I bought them in black and brown. The quality of Torrid boots is okay. Not completely cheap, but not as sturdy as WideWithBoots. My sister on the other hand is probably a size 10, 19 or 20 inch calf and has purchased several pairs from Lane Bryant. No issues with them falling apart or being slippery.
