Cheap clothes! D:

I'm on a very limited income (social security disability) and need some clothes. It is hard for me to get around to stores, and the plus size picking here in Tampa are slim. I need a few nicer, but still casual outfits for a trip I am taking in May to attend my best friend's wedding. I need something for the rehearsal dinner at a local casual sushi ( Read more... )

You might also want to post on FatshionXchange, if you don't mind clothes that aren't new.

Yes, this was my recommendation as well. And often, people do post things that are new (tags attached), new without the tags, or worn only a few times. You (OP) might want to post an ISO (in search of) post in FXC for the black dress. [link]

There is a Dots (www.dots.com) listed at University Plaza in Tampa and three Rainbows (www.rainbowshops.com) listed in Tampa. I've had great luck finding clothes at Dots (and Rainbow is a very similar store), especially dresses. Plus, Dots often has great clearance racks.

Both of those!

Also DEB can have some cute stuff that you can work with- and their clearance racks are AMAZING (I got sweaters for $3 and pants for around $6).

Have you been to Bealls? They're all over Florida, and it looks like there are a bunch of them in Tampa. I tend to do most of my summer shopping in Florida when I visit my parents, and this year I made out like a bandit; I was thinking about posting my first OOTDs just to show off some of the stuff I found. The Bealls Outlet stores are extremely random in what they stock because it's all overstock, and you do have to hunt the racks, but they occasionally have really nice stuff at significant discounts - and an extra 15% off depending on the day. (I think it's on Monday if you're under 50, and Friday if you're over 50 ( ... )

Yeah, I do know about Bealls. Sadly though, the one by me is very small and doesn't usually have much of anything bigger than a 1x.

Ah, that's too bad. It seems like in the Fort Myers area, there's one every few miles. We visited three on this trip without particularly exerting ourselves, and there were a few more we could have gotten to if we'd been serious about it.

There is a really good one that I know of, further down by the airforce base, but it is a disaster to get to, and I usually can't make that trip.

I just got the new Woman Within catalog, and the prices I'm seeing in it are surprisingly low. I can't speak to the quality or fit of their clothing, though.
