Capes!

Hi there! I asked this question on my own blog, but wanted to ask this community about it, too: Do you wear capes? Sweater-capes, coat-capes, capelets? If so, can you post your photo here? I have been thinking about buying this Military Cape coat from Kmart's LYS line:

I have no idea how capes look, but I want one anyway. I have fairly broad shoulders, and most coats make me feel like I am wearing a straitjacket...

I wish, though, that this would say how long it was. I really want a LONG cape, and all I have seen are short ones.

AGREED! There is no info at all about this coat. I think I'm just going to have to take the plunge and order it, since there isn't a Kmart anywhere close to me. Damn and blast!

No pics here either, but I have a delicious (and astonishingly well made) short capelet, in bright red fleece, from the regular F21 line. It has 2 sets of buttons down the front, with a polka dotted poly lining, and I think it's totally adorable. It doesn't fasten around the sides at all, so I just had to worry about the shoulders for sizing.

I've always wanted a full length, ridiculous cloak, but one of any decent quality is expensive.

That one looks cute! And it's a wool blend - usually good. If you like it, I say do it.

I wear a poncho, which isn't the same thing really, but I love this! I wish I'd seen more for sale in the UK. Or, indeed, any at all.

I always sort of dismissed capes as old-ladyish, which is ridiculous of me because they seem like they'd offer a good freedom of movement, which is my #1 pet peeve with traditional coats. I am LOVING that Kmart one you posted. Wow.
