Capes!

Hi there! I asked this question on my own blog, but wanted to ask this community about it, too: Do you wear capes? Sweater-capes, coat-capes, capelets? If so, can you post your photo here? I have been thinking about buying this Military Cape coat from Kmart's LYS line:

With a very few exceptions, everything I've seen from the LYS line at my local K-mart has been pretty gross. It looks cute from a distance, but then you get closer and it's just awful. The fabric is cheap and scratchy, the seams are usually uneven or have popped threads, and besides running about a size small, sometimes the fit doesn't even make sense for a human being of any proportions.

I'm still on the fence about capes in general, but then I usually only come to terms with a new fashion trend just about the time it goes out of style....but I'd say give them a try, just maybe not this one.

I haven't looked often, but at my Kmart there were usually 2-3 things that were decently made, the rest was junk, awful fabric and pretty much as you described - ruined embroidery/embellishments, loose threads, etc.

With the stuff I tried on (as a size 28) I found that they actually ran large for my taste.

As far as capes go, eShakti has a few cute options - and they do custom sizing for $7.50 or it is free on your first order.

Okay, instead of the Kmart cape, I am going to try to save up for this one: http://la-danscloset.com/store/index.php/clothing/long-vintage-cape-1.html

By the time I have the money for it, it will be winter again...
