I'm not the OP, but the dress is from City Chic.

Beat me to it :) Yes, it is city chic. AMAZING dress, horrible company. I had an awful experience buying this dress, but they do have some lovely things.

I can't seem to find on online, but I would go with a black sheer shrug like this. Maybe you could find one in a bridal shop. I would then go with silver accessories like some dangly silver earrings and maybe a bracelet.

By the way; Awesome dress. If you wear makeup I would hit the decolletage with a bit of bronzer.

perhaps the "instant sleeves" now sold by lucielu would work?

I've been wanting to try these, actually. So this might be a good option. I think this might be step one, and if I don't like them with this dress I'll still have time to shop for something else!

Mind if I ask you about sizing? I typically size down on shrugs because I have narrower shoulders and like the sleeves to be snug. How do you feel the sizing runs?

The sizing runs pretty true to size. I'm about a 16-18 but have broad shoulders and chubby arms for my size, I have the black ones in 2x. One thing to note is that they don't cover your front at all. The little extra fold of fat under your armpit that some people have, I call them arm nuggets, don't stay covered unless I adjust them. It's great if you're busy though because there's nothing covering the front of you, just your back and arms.

If you have narrow shoulders I'd size down because they are very stretchy too. I give them a 9.5 out of 10, I hope they never stop making them because honestly it's my favorite shrug ever. I would love a red one.

HTH, the dress is really pretty and I'm sure you'll look great in it!

Igigi has this in black (incidentally shown w a purple dress): http://www.igigi.com/plus-size-separates/taffeta-bolero.html

Since the dress has that ornate design I would definitely go for something which doesn't cover too much of it, and if you want a dressier look to look for nicer fabrics rather than too much detail.

I'll echo everyone else on the dress: gorgeous :)

I love that suggestion. Otherwise something like this would look great:
