I think the idea of a flash mom fat dance party is great. That being said, the venue they are doing it in is not. If we want to be respected more by people who are pushing the anti-obesity rhetoric, the way to do it is not by interrupting someone's professional speech at a professional conference to dance. It's disrespectful, and simply sitting in the audience and giving the presenter some strong criticism in response to his/her speech would be way more effective than a group trolling event.

I really doubt that (1) the speaker will be outside, or (2) the people dancing will be inside. But if you're willing to organize someone to attend the conference & provide the criticism, that'd be awesome.

The ad specifically states that they'll be interrupting a speech at the conference - not just dancing in front of the center it's being held in. That is what I have a problem with.

I'm in NY so I couldn't feasibly attend the conference, and I don't know anyone else who could either. Maybe one of the fats here would be willing to do so.
