Article on Marie Claire.com "Should Fatties Get a Room?"

Has anyone else seen this article?  I was so completely disgusted and angered that I immediately wrote to the web editor to let her know that I would not be renewing my subscription to Marie Claire.  If anyone else wishes to send her an email, her name is Kate Schweitzer, and her email address is kschweitzer@hearst.com.

That article is so ignorant, condescending and just so disgustingly wrong on so many levels that I can hardly get my head around it. I am used to reading so many tired old clichés in comment sections, but I am quite shocked that this got past an editor. Well, not really shocked, more disappointed.

I am not quite sure whether it is wort for me to write, because I am from Germany so not directly the target group. What do you think?

Always worth it to write. The more mail they get, the more seriously they take it.

I'm really disappointed. In past, I've found Marie Claire to be more accepting of us than most magazines are. This is unacceptable.

But ... I think obesity is something that most people have a ton of control over. It's something they can change, if only they put their minds to it.

Now, don't go getting the wrong impression: I have a few friends who could be called plump. I'm not some size-ist jerk.

Wow.
That is one of the most ignorant things I've read in awhile.
I love how she compares the 'distress' of watching fatties making out to seeing a heroin (or, "heroine" according to her) addict slumped over.
