Article on Marie Claire.com "Should Fatties Get a Room?"

Has anyone else seen this article?  I was so completely disgusted and angered that I immediately wrote to the web editor to let her know that I would not be renewing my subscription to Marie Claire.  If anyone else wishes to send her an email, her name is Kate Schweitzer, and her email address is kschweitzer@hearst.com.

Now, don't go getting the wrong impression: I have a few friends who could be called plump. I'm not some size-ist jerk.

I'm pretty sure by "friends who could be called plump" she means "acquaintances who wear a size 8."

I really felt that the comment they made that you quoted felt very much like, the "now don't judge me... I have friends who are "black, gay, etc" and they like ME" type of comment people use for their prejudices to in some way rationalize them and make themselves feel like a good person. It is STILL discrimination. Also, completely pathetic.
