Winter is coming..

Well okay, not right away but I want to get a jump on this this year as I always leave it to the last minute and in our frigid winters that is absolutely not the best idea =/ especially considering this year I'll be spending a fair amount of time outdoors in the wind and cold walking to and from subway stations and just generally walking AS WELL AS ( Read more... )

see thats really odd lol because last year i was a tad late on the scene and thus there wasn't a lot left but i tried on a hideously ugly (yellow) powderroom coat, kind of shaped like the button front style burton up there and it was only a tad snug. i would have tried something more like the bomber but they didn't have any, my sportchek fails miserably.

i'm really sold on the idea of buying a snowboarding coat, i don't layer and i already own two wool coats from old navy (both of which i wear here at my parents farm often, i have a long one that is great with a hoodie when its freeze-your-ass-off -30 weather) but winter sports are huge in my area and i'm crazy enough to want to spend time outside in the bitter cold.

i know the boarding pants would never fit though lmao

Finding ski/snowboard jackets to fit a larger bust and hips is difficult. I find that Burton runs particularly small ( ... )

The columbia jackets are actually kind of cute, orage leaves a lot to be desired and I think the pockets are hideous lol. I may end up having to go into the mens department in the end, its annoying but I'd love a bomber in a certain fabric/colour, ect. I'm an XL on top usually, 40DD bust and I'm hourglass shaped haha, but my hips are not especially large, it's usually the boob area that doesn't fit. And the arms, because I have long arms as well.

I'll look around, we have a lot of skate/snow stores here and of course sportchek and a couple other big box type sports stores.

I forgot to mention that REI, the American MEC, sometimes has a decent selection of plus sizes (there should be more available come late September/October, as people start thinking about skiing again), and they ship to Canada.

Oh I'm from sunny Australia so I can't really assist with recommendations, just wanted to throw a little George RR Martin love out there.
