Oh man, I'd love to hear if there's a solution to this!!

I've grown to have a bit of a "kick" in my step in shorts - some how I've found a way to walk a bit different so the legs will fall back down - but I have to do it every couple steps and I probably look like a fool doing it.

this is exactly why I stopped wearing shorts. Except of course, for bike shorts under my skirts/dresses.

My favorite pair has elastic at the bottom, so they don't go anywhere. Wish I could find more pairs like them.

If you have other pairs of shorts that are full enough in the leg, why not open up the hem at the side seam and thread through some elastic yourself? Just a suggestion :)

I think that if you magically invent a solution to this age-old quandary, you'll be freaking rich. Not to mention beloved by fatties everywhere.

crazy glue and staples. Even that might not do it ;/

I have this problem too - I think what needs to happen is to stiffen the inseam of the shorts. Maybe sew in some flexible plastic boning? It might be uncomfortable as hell, and might not work, but if anyone tries it and it does work, let me know!

I actually saw an ad for a product that is precisely that. I don't remember the name of it, and it was a long time ago, but it was essentially plastic boning with some padding to keep it from poking you in sensitive areas. Might be worth a try for the DIY-er who really likes shorts.
