And here I was gonna eat a nice, healthy, vegetarian dinner tonight. Well, it's cheeseburger night now. Mmm, animal flesh.

I get that many veggies/vegans eat that way for legitimate moral or health reasons. I eat predominantly vegetarian simply out of convenience. However, I have zero respect for PETA.

for what it's worth, my anemia went away after i went vegan. it had to do more with proper nutrition than eating red meat.

Wow, since when is it PETA's job to dish out "tough love"?

And since when is it ever a good idea to give "tough love" to people who are already feeling unnecessary shame and embarrassment? Fucking assholes.

exactly. like we all haven't had our share of "tough love." they're such douches.

"We agree that a world where self-esteem is unrelated to body size would be a wonderful place, but we also know that most people feel depressed and embarrassed about their weight and often need some tough love."

People feel depressed and embarrassed because of the media and companies like PETA. PETA whole spiel is to try and make people uncomfortable about them selves and to stop them from doing something that, potentially, makes them happy. I'm just so fed up with them saying they aren't trying to offend or insult people when that's all they ever do.

I'd like to stats on the population broken into three categories (vegan, vegetarian, omnivore) and have each of those broken into four sub categories (weight classes) to see what the real percentages are. I have a feeling almost equal percentages of people are overweight or obese in each category.

Yeah, this part got me too. How about "We agree that a world where self-esteem was independent of body size is a wonderful place, and we are proud and happy to encourage people to feel good about themselves at any weight". I'm happy that they encourage a healthy vegetarian diet, that's great, and how about leaving it at that if they aren't able to encourage anything else?

“GONE. Just Like All the Pounds Lost by People Who Go Vegetarian. GoVeg.com.”

Really. Really? Really. Like that's sooo much better.

I still think the proper response is a picture of a bunch of naked, happy, fat vegetarians giving PETA the middle finger.

if there's a billboard nearby, someone needs to do this.

I think even just sending them an 8x10 picture would be nice :-)
