Bra Blues

I have the hardest time finding cute bras. As a small chested lady (40-42B) who's 5'7" and generally wears an 18/20 top and bottom, it's very hard to find stuff that's "ooh" worthy (I love cool clothes of any type!).

Does anyone have any idea where I can get reasonably priced bras? I hate going to the LB and Torrid type places that charge $45 ( Read more... )

I am evidently your size twin, and I LOVE Lane Bryant bras - I was just in the states for six weeks, and bought nine LB bras because they won't ship overseas and their bras fit me so well and are available in such cute patterns! They were having a buy one, get one 1/2 price sale, and I also got like $75 off because the total was over $200 or something, so my advice is to wait for the big sales, cos those bras ended up costing me $10-15 each!

42B here, Lane Bryant is the only one I've found that ever has anything remotely pretty in my size. Though for full disclosure I should mention that I prefer the cotton soft cups. Right now they're doing the buy 2 get 2 free sale.

Same size, and yep - LB is the only place I go to.

(and I guess I should note, I even make a point to avoid buying anything else from them)

Avenue is actually having a huge bra sale at the moment, and I know that some of the really cheap ones are available in your size. As long as you don't mind buying online, I just got a few from them, and they fit really well and true to size (full disclosure, I'm a DD, so I don't know how their smaller cup size fit, I just know that they have them).

I don't know what to tell you, but I feel your pain. I'm a 38/40A. It's nearly impossible to find bras of any kind, so I primarily stick to sports bras.

Just because we're curvy elsewhere does *NOT* mean we happen to have large breasts, darn it!

And I'm a "barely" B. I could probably fit an A without being uncomfortable, but as you've experienced, SO hard to find anything.

I know!!! It's so frustrating to gauge clothes based on measurements, because a lot of time you'll only get the bust, and that is no help AT ALL. I'm a 38B, though I could probably fit into an A as well. I buy my bras at Macy's, which are kind of expensive but worth it. I'm not sure if they carry 40 or 42B though. I used to wear a 40A, which is literally impossible to find. I'm going to have to check out Lane Bryant's bras. ...
