May I also suggest that you bring this to the attention of the Canadian Broadcast Standards Council.

Thank you. That will probably be the next step if they don't give me a satisfactory response.

I don't know what "satisfactory" is at this point, but I suspect that I will either feel appeased or not when (if) the response comes and proceed from there.

I would also contact the cancer foundation to express your concern that the add will hinder people from getting involved.

That is an awesome idea, and I had not thought of it... but I will absolutely be writing to them.

Doing charity work should make you feel good... not self-conscious and ashamed.

If fat people are fat because we don't exercise enough, and it is NOT OKAY to appear running/exercising where the fragile general public will see us, what is the other option?

The other option is hypocrisy and body hatred. Hey, I didn't say it was a GOOD option!

Might not be a bad idea to contact the station's advertisers (especially the local ones) on this as well. Losing a listener might not be a big deal to them, but losing a sponsor is a hit to the wallet.
