I've a question for all the big heavy boobie fatshionistas. What do you do with halters, strapless, and tube tops to keep the girls from swinging low
( Read more... )
i'm a 42DD, sometimes DDD, depending on where the bra came from(*cough* lane bryant *cough*), and i also have fibromyalgia. mixing the two together makes *everything* hurt my neck, but halter tops are the worst. bleh.
anyway... what i do, and it really isn't much of a solution, is that i either sew the straps of the halter top to the back band, so it becomes some sort of fucked up version of a tank top, or i sew straps to the band and then to the halter, so it still looks like a halter, with less of it depending on my boobs for support. not exactly the best options, but it does work and i do get to keep my cute halters that i couldn't otherwise wear.
now if i could only figure out how to make jacket/vest collars not hurt, without having to butcher the clothes to pieces, heh.
i had to actually google image search "long line bra" to know what you were talking about. they look like corsets. if i'm going to wear a corset, it's going to be the showpiece of my outfit, right? not hidden under some stupid cheap halter top. ;)
They aren't as restricting as corsets, but still not terribly comfortable. I have one from my prom dress (oh, ten years ago now) but I only use it on special occasions. I don't think it's worth it for a cute tube top for just a day around.
I second the long line bras. I LOVE those. I have one from um...JC Penny's I think it was that I have had forever and a day. Check Frederick's of Hollywood too they usually carry bigger bras. Uum..I am brain dead so I'll think ofmore tomorrow.
I have just given up. The one time I wore a halter top and a halter bra was my senior prom. I had a red line cut into my neck for a week afterward. I'm a 36H though, so those boobies are damn heavy.
